    Hello,

When I saw an early photo of the 1932 5 window chopped coupe with flames, it struck me as extremely cool. We learned and practiced drawing flames from an early age, during our junior high school, high school and into college days spending time filling up our school papers and notebooks with scallops and flames.
    upload_2023-3-17_3-30-9.png
This was the style that we tried to draw, starting with the letter “C” and making crab claws. They were short and did not have the swoopy extended flame tips we see today. It was new back then, but today, would be called “old school” style.

A hot rod cl***ified with a B/A designation. Since the lack of fenders and the open wheels, despite the set up being something driven on the street, it was cl***ified as a modified coupe, hence placed in the Altered Cl***. This is many years prior to lumping the Altered Coupes with the Modified Roadsters into one giant Altered Coupe cl*** that we saw prior to disappearing all together.

The hot rod interior fits right into the normal look of bucket seats, floor shift and custom gauges. It was prior to the Summer of 1960, since the Moon style aluminum gas tank is photographed inside of the cab. (after August 1960, all interior mounted gas tanks had to be removed from the cab and placed in the trunk or for compe***ion only, in front of the motor/grille… As per compe***on ruling for official 1320 drag strips)

Sadly, the real car, which was a big hit at the NHRA National Championship Drag Races in Oklahoma City in 1957, is long lost..

  6. Having just been on spring break and attending a museum, my thoughts are on physical art. I thought this shot was artistic when I took it at the Walter P Chrysler museum, which is now closed. Hope to recreate something like it. It allows the opportunity to work with colours and shapes and size and scale… 0A4F9EE9-0EAA-423A-96C1-B988BDE83A88.jpeg

  11. Not sure, goes up to thirty, first guess is air pressure, but not likely. I have an early ford guage I will share, but not here. My collecting is on going and is strongly Ford influenced. Maybe Vandenplas has an idea since this is almost a dodge workshop.

Seeing that it only goes to 30, It's probably a vacuum gauge.
