October Halloween Theme Sedan Delivery Surf Shop

    Hello,

Surfing using old hot rods to go to the beach was a dual purpose hinderance. Why? Well number 1, the surfboards at the time were almost longer than the hot rod coupes, sedans and sedan deliveries. No one used trucks due to the length of the board sticking out of the back. But, as the Model A series provided, a nice rail to clip ropes, cords and later, surf rack clips. So, the long boards could be place on top.

(In an old photo of the private, San Onofre Surf Club parking lot, of all of the cars, wagons, sporty cars and trucks, there was one 32 Ford Coupe in the lot. Since the parking lot was packed, it usually meant it was in the summer and/or definitely on a weekend…)

As nice as the Model A sedan delivery was, it was space challenged for taller folks to sleep comfortably in the back cave. So, perhaps a nicely styled “Tear Drop” pumpkin trailer built for two adult sleepers.

That sure would have made a commotion on the packed beach parking lot. Especially, during the costumed weekend gatherings… YRMV

Happy Friday to all of you that contribute to the "FAS"
I usually post up my photography, but I got inspired a couple of days ago to actually sit down and create some new artwork.
I am sure a lot of you saw the AI work posted by @Ryan, and the responses it got from a lot of us.
Regardless of what AI can do and what it cant do, contributors to the " FAS" such as

    @edcodesign ,@Jeff Norwell , @Jigger ,@jnaki, @Stogy , @Ron Funkhouser ,@rusty1

These are the fellow artist's that I look at weekly, and I am just amazed at their talent, because they actually sat down and did the artwork.

@rusty1 I would have to say, always gets my attention, because of the element of his style, and the freedom it demonstrates, it's okay if a line isn't straight, and I totally appreciate that.
So I sat down and did some pencil work of Joey Ukrop's 2.0 project, as it sit's in his garage, in San Francisco.
The finished product turned into 6 copies of 16" X 17" laminated
place-mat's, and it got shipped off to him and it will be delivered on 10/21/2023, a total surprise for him.
I love the way it look's like a print from a wood cut, it also remind's me of the way, certain record album's used to look back in the day.

If you look at it the right way, the headlight's are eye's and the straight axle is a goofy smile.

Thank's from Dennis, to you to all of you, for inspiring me to get up off of my lazy ***, and actually sit down and do some pencil work !

Hamber @stanlow69 left us recently...far to young...I was planning on doing this Inspiration for him and downloaded his Artwork from a recent Thread above on 'Inspiration vs Reality' as I do on occasion when following...Sadly I didn't get to share it with him but I will share it with him in spirit...He joins so many friends I've known here that have also left us as we do the walk of life...

Anyhow Happy Friday All...great stuff as Always...

@41 GMC K-18 love the new artwork...and Yeah the Faces, Old Cars are Always Hamb'in it up eh!

Yeah AI...this is all Digital, a mix of Photo manipulation and hand drawn details but primitive by AI standards...
Stanlow's Image is behind the Layers and his Background is still visible...it actually has a chalkboard look to it...

His Work was a Ink on Board and scratched...I believe I have done that and sometimes you put color underneath the ink to add pizazz to the Scratch

It needs a golf club door. I hear heaven has excellent courses and a drink cart on every hole.

This is a sign that I painted for my friend Mario's Birthday a few years back, stopped by his home shop in Fresno to visit and took this picture of it. When I brought it to his birthday party it had wet paint still and I didn't get a good picture of it, so, I thought I would share! He owns and built all the cars on the sign and in the pics, see attached pic!
