    Hello,

From the early history in 1963-64, K.S. Pittman began his lightweight Willys Coupe portion of the drag racing career. Some of the big names had yet to move to the 33 Willys Coupe body styles. So, this was a first at the time during the 1963 early 1964 time period.

In early drags, there were a couple of 33 Willys coupes, one in So Cal at the Santa Ana Drags and the other in 1958-59 in Ohio. We all know the history of that 33 Willys Coupe in the A/Gas cl***es. Both cl*** record holders at one time or another.

But, as everything move into the future, as Gas Coupes moved to the next level of compe***ion, too. The individual racers with their street driven hot rods no longer were compe***ive and the cl***e began to move to the full race build. So, specific modifications were beginning to show up and get p***ed on by the tech committees.

The 1941 Willys Red Coupe weighed approximately 2400 lbs. The 33 Willys Coupe weighed 2200 lbs on the average. With lightweight fibergl*** parts, the weight savings was tremendous with the given power, now a 671 Hemi motor. Now, with the chopped top and more weight savings in the build, what is left? The whole body/fenders as a one piece fibergl*** concoction?

A mean at***ude and approach always gives a chill to opponents and the spectators… yikes!

Some times, its fun to just use an old junk piece of white butcher paper to draw on. As you can see, this was a piece of paper I had used to draw the outline of an old license plate, and you can see the holes punched in it.

Work in progress for our Wisconsin Hot Rod Hundred awards drawn by Alan Childers. The hole in the artwork in the middle is where I need to mount the cross still…

I haven't posted in a while, was meaning to this morning but forget, so here is my late contribution.

These are all sketches I've done at recent cruise nights.
