I have been getting everything ready for tomorrow evening. I have some prep work for Saturday morning. we are yanking the 283 and 3 speed manual out and stuffing the 350/350 combo in. Have to change the column and the pedals out as well.

Normally I would say a good day and you'll be done, but, if you gotta stop to feed Ethan, it may take all weekend :D

removing a manual trans and putting in an automatic? sounds backwards to me.... just kidding, good luck. those pedals you are removing will work in a 60, I wonder if @Lloyd's paint & glass ever got a clutch pedal for his el camino ??

those pedals are 61 only, the z bar and other parts are 59-61 according to the chevrolet parts book, just so ya know.... do you need a 61 automatic brake pedal assy? I will send you the one I removed from my car, I have no use for it

I am just trying to have it ready for Bowling Green next month.

we ran into a few problems today. the clutch fan we were going to use won’t fit inside of the fan shroud. The old fan won’t fit the water pump on the engine. The bolt holes in the fan don’t line up with the water pump.

The yoke on the driveshaft doesn’t fit the transmission.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am trying to change out the generator for an alternator. The pump that is on the 283 is shorter and I wouldn’t have room for the alternator.

Maybe with that large clutch fan it doesn’t need a shroud
