Really great that another of these old gas style cars have been found. Better yet is that you plan to put it back the way it was. The cool thing is that many people in the future will be able to enjoy the look and the sounds that a number of us diehards feel is the best era in drag racing-Jim.

Some progress today. More sanding, so we can primer the bare metal areas. Leading in some bad spots in the deck lid, and pulled the rear wheels so we can check the brakes.

    Gasser Passer>> http://public.fotki.com/VincePutt/drag_racing/gassers/angliagassers/georgemontgomerygas.html

Reprinted from the June 10, 1966 issue of National DRAGSTER

"The obvious crowd favorite in the popular Super Eliminator had to be "Ohio George" Montgomery. George had collected class wins Saturday with his SOHC Ford powered '37 Willys, and his famous "Gasser Passer."

    1965:Indy

"Local favorite and previous winner George Montgomery was hot on SWC's heels but managed only a 10.28 at 136.26 in the powder blue Willys. The Hurst Gasser Passer Anglia suffered wheelstanding problems, as it would throughout the meet, and was left in the pits after Saturday."

Anyone have or know where we can get a new, or good used, 1 inch bore piston for an Airheart master cylinder ? Airheart doesn't make or supply this size anymore.
I didn't find anything in the search forum.

  18. cant help with the piston, but are you planning to unchop it?

  22. Had the chance to visit Rob's shop last week and check out the Gasser Passer in person... All I can say is what an amazing history lesson walking through his shop is. Great guy too... Our group truly enjoyed our visit.

    More progress today.
Had a sign painter over today to letter the car.
This is only a temporary lettering job, and will be redone when the body work and paint is complete. This will make it easier for people to recognize the car and maybe it will also lead to some of the original parts .

Got the wheels changed for a better look.
Built and installed the drive shaft and the next project is to get the motor running.
