Hoping next year is scheduled soon enough that I don't have another wedding on the same day! Looks like it was a great time.
We will put it on the list fo sho! Even if we have to drive the daily, we can have bad weather up here this time of year. Already had a foot of snow now its in the 70s all week.
I think it is safe to say everyone was blown away with the quality of vehicles that attended. I'll be adding some pics later.
I was honored to represent the HAMB and give away the HAMB Award. Show had a lot of "modern" traditional Hot Rods but few just traditional. One stood out more than the others, we loved Galen Esslinger's 1929 Model A Roadster from Wichita, KS. The stance was what first got my attention. when you look it over has a lot of kool detail without being cute. The flathead was dressed out but not over done. I would love to drive the wheels off this one.
Very honored and thankful for the guys from "The Gathering at the Roc". We got to pick the Koolest Kustom. This kool 1949 shoebox won the Stray Kat pick. John Icke from Paducah, KY. Thanks John for attending the event.
When Jason said this is one of the best roadsters that he has seen. I knew it was going to be a kool one. Wow pics don’t do it justice. Could be AMBR worthy but what do I know.. Lol! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Was parked next to it @ the hotel both days and talked to the owner @ length. So subtle but over the top in quality. Lots of neat stuff ya had 2 look 4. Def AMBR quality. Owner did say he hated the Bias plys but put em on for "The Look"
Great choice on that Shoebox. What a nice car! Also, great selection of photos following that post. I'm still kicking myself for missing this.
@Ryan, I totally understand your situation on the "why" you didn't come up to the event, but man, I hate that you missed out on it. I can't imagine that the Gathering will be a "one and done" kind of event, as it was too cool for that to be the case. Hopefully by next year we'll have a better handle on how to deal with the 'rona by then and it'll be a thing of the past so it isn't a potential health threat for so many folks.
One of the kool things about car shows is the road trips. Lot of kool road trip memories were made last weekend. I wish I had the opportunity to visit with the guys from Arizona. Thankful they took pictures so we can see their adventure. Wow what a trip.... Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
That's our group @straykatkustoms! We drove to Oklahoma with 9 other cars from Arizona, and had a great time. Great location for a show, and the nicest people you'll ever meet.
