The other thing I figured out was what kind of bed I will be running. This is what I have in mind. Mine will have a tailgate, but other than that, it will look very similar to this. One thing I have wanted with this build is flush fit doors, I don’t like the quarter inch over lap, by building integrated sides, the leading edge of the sides will **** up against the trailing edge of the doors giving me flush fit doors’ at least up to the centre swage. There was a limited run of 1931 Model A Deluxe Pickups that released with these wider beds.
So in short I will be resuming where I left off last month, by finishing off the guttering, then moving onto the framing in the roof. In order to fund the purchase of the front end, I have a 27 T Roadster Pickup Cab, 29 Model A Roadster Pickup Cab and 29 Chev Pickup Cab, that I’m piecing together to sell off over the Summer break. If I call sell all three I will have the funds for the front end as well as a nine inch diff. That’s the plan anyway.
No way could I hit the like ****on. I can understand that sometimes Mother Nature wins. Rust. Mother Natures way of returning items back to the earth. At least you can harvest parts to make your build better and easier.
Hey Guys. I found a more modern image of the bed. I don’t like the way the sides are lower than the centre swage of the cab or the way the leading edge falls short of the trailing edge of the doors.
I’m not sold on how much realestate there is between leading edge of the fender and the leading edge of the bed. I’m wondering what would happened if I shortened the wheelbase by ten inches.
