  1. As far as the questions on the drivetrain, it's a 10.5 to 1 compression pump gas 406 SBC. It has 6" H-beam rods and good lightweight Pistons. The heads are AFR 220's with the CNC race port. The cam is a big hydraulic roller. Intake as a 1968 Edelbrock TR1 breadbox topped with Holley 660 center-squirters.

    The trans is a Tremec TKO 600 behind a McLeod RXT dual-disc clutch. I run a 31 spline 9" with a 4.11 posi.

The car idles well and is actually quite Streetable. In fact, the morning I raced it I ran it all over town - the bank, the auto part store, my businesses and the car wash. I drive it almost every day the sun is shining.

Great video! It looks like its 60 ft' low 1.40s or better. I have a question- I can see that you have American Racing spindle mounts. I'm not seeing any rotors/calipers behind the spokes. Am I missing the front brakes? If not; that's an impressive hook with what can't be much heat in those slicks! Maybe your starting line is just that good; not sure, but very impressive.

Never mind. On closer inspection in your 2nd pic I do see something round in there. I'd sure like to know how you attached a rotor to those wheels. I have American spindle mounts on my "A" and I don't see enough material to attach a rotor to. Do you happen to have any close-up pics of the wheels or rotor set up? Thanks.

  4. I do have brakes on the spindle mount wheels, but never touched them during the burn out. I would roll through the water and stop on the edge of the burn out box. I'd stab the throttle and let it come out of the box on it's own (no line lock on the car). Very little tire smoke, but she would often pull the left front a couple inches coming out of the water box. With and the car would pull 1.40 60 ft times. I was using a 28x10 stiff sidewall slick. I'll try to post some pics of the brakes when I get back to the shop.
