Well I was out in my garage today and a friend stopped over and asked me if I wanted to go down town because there was something going on with old cars. So the old car junky I am decided to go for the ride. On our way down I remebered hearing something about the race cars stopping in town from the Great American Race. The bad thing is I am no photograher and we showed up late. The good thing is I was looking at the Marmon Wasp build thread the other night and told my wife I would love to se this thing in person. Well the car gods were on my side today I tell you. I walked around the corner and there she sat all big and beautiful wearing her #32 proudly and glowing yellow as to say look at me. To make this night even better than I was expecting. After taken a few shots of the cars and the Wasp I turn another corner to find myself face to face with Mr. Coker himself. I have to say he has to be one of the most pleasant people I have had the pleasure meeting. He was wonderful and ful of knowledge about the car. He and I walked back to the car because he told me he was going to fire her up. and Well I had to hear this thing in person. On the way back to the car I had told Mr. Coker that I would love to get a picture of he and the Wasp to post on the HAMB. When I said that he smiled even bigger than he was already and told me he would be happy to. He also told me that Ryan needs to get his ass out here from Texas.........lol..... I told him I would tell you Ryan. Anyway I hope that you all enjoy the half ass pics I wish you could have been there
I would like to say thank you to Corky Coker for taking the time to hang out for a little bit and good luck with the rest of your journey.

I went up to Maggie Valley last Saturday to the Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum for the first leg of the Great Race and was there when they all came in around 4:30 in the afternoon. Great fun and the museum is super cool. Thanks to Corky Coker, Hemmings and Dale Walksler of the museum for putting on a good time and providing a rest and food stop for the contestants. Here is the article. http://www.hotrodsonline.com/virtualrodrun/2011/11_Great/slides/DSC06267.html
Thanks for sharing - I would love to see the '37 Ford Eifel Roadster in person - I saw the Wasp a couple of years ago when it was in build.

Thanks for the pix. I saw them about 8 years ago & we 'chased' them as they left town the following day. It was neat to see them rolling down the highway. Chris
I bet that was really cool to see Sodbuster. I would have loved to be down this morning when they all started to take off.
