Why piss on someone else's Wheaties? Driving your pride and joy through Detroit's streets in the middle of winter to Cobo Hall isn't fun, and who wants to totally clean all that salt and crap off just so you can prove something? And its a great show with a lot of history so why discourage anyone from putting their car in it?
Big storms are coming thru California right now, so we might get snow here Sunday (forecast here is for snow down to 4500 ft, we're at 5300 ft), so it might be headed your way too!
OK, just so you can't say I only report the GOOD days. After a couple days of 70 degrees we are at 5 degrees with blowing snow. This is Western South Dakota, don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes!
Thanks for keepin' it real Trent! We have gotten about 6" of wet fluffy snow here too and its in the 30's. I hope it melts off quick this week. I feel for the people in eastern South Dakota is getting pounded right now, especially Watertown, where they are getting 12-16" of snow with 30-40 mph winds! South Dakota winters can be brutal!
It's been snowing here since 10:30 this morning and we could get 6 to 15 inches. No big deal in Wisconsin.
After spending 58 years in that crap, I'm glad to not there now. And that's coming from someone who used to spend their winters riding the Sioux River and ice racing on the lakes with studded 450cc bikes and three wheelers or running in the blizzards with my four wheel drive truck for fun. It was fun back then but I sure wish I hadn't trashed myself with frostbite from doing it.
Blame the frostbite you just got soft in your old age! As for East River, bad. My sis is snowed in at Pipestone, she care for very sick babies. This ain't nuthin, wait til it thaws and the Big Sioux starts a risin
He certainly hasn't made a friend with me, what a douchebag. I'm proud to say I'm now too smart to try to drive that car to Detroit in February! We have 4" of new, heavy wet snow on the ground from today (it had ALL melted as of last night) with a nice 1/4" thick glaze of ice on top of that. Losing limbs from trees even as we speak. So far, we still have electricity, but the worst is supposed to hit tonight. Good thing I bought snow tires for the "Millusion", my '06 Mercury Milan with Fusion front sheet metal. Brian
Nice car flynbrian48..I wouldnt drive it out there in this shit either...I think being safe is Traditional, and so is smart
we have that same mess here as well. Ice, rain, ice, snow, ice repeat. Roads are crusted ice/slush/water. I was getting used to those 50 degree days. Now this
Come on up here, I'll include the 40mph winds. BTW, I would've trailered the car to Cobo, too. And I'm a firm believer in driving what ya got. But I ain't stupid, -20F is kinda cold.
I am sure I got more snow yesterday in Lansing, than we did during the "blizzard of '11" Official reports from 1 pm Sunday to 7 am Monday 9.4"
I think we got about 8" in Ortonville. I think i mite trailer down chrysler. No heat no wipers. They are saying a winter mix for move in day. So i am pussin out too.
I'm holding out hope that it'll be nice wednesday to drive down but I've got at trailer as a backup plan. Yeah it's real hard core to wrap your old car around a telephone pole...that guy is a dick...
