Technical The Green Monster

  1. I have a 1950 Chevrolet Belair with a 1955 235 with 2 2bbl. The engine is stock with a 3 speed transmission and torque tube rear end. At 70 mph it’s hitting 3,000 rpm.the question is.is there an overdrive for that trans so I can lower the rpm on the highway. Most of my money is already in the car so I can’t swap the whole drive train.

    What a great looking Chevy!!!
    Can't help you out on the overdrive,,,but unless everything under the car is new and has been fully modernized, these cars were never designed to be 70 mph vehicles.
