When it comes to Starliners and Rivieras you don’t need to go overboard ( overkill that is, insanity) the factory lines speak for themselves.
Ford and Holman-Moody tried to slip this one past NASCAR inspectors, but they would have none of it. Think they were calling it a "Starlifter", a '62 Galaxie using a '61 roof.
I like it, but the single headlight doesn't compliment the car at all. Easy to armchair quarterback a custom, I know, but an extra painted headlight "tunnel" to house the 4 lights in the grille as it came but still custom af. And the panel painted version is the homecoming queen here. My opinion. Riviera? I can't say any more than I ever have. If I was 'no object' wealthy my car collection would be a fuckin mess. No theme needed, a mess of kool.
Starlifters: In 1962 Harry Hyde, Fred Lorenzen, Lee Moody and a bigass Stroker motor all took to B'Ville to see what she'd run. As the couldn't run it anywhere else in NASCAR. A few other were around. I think the Wood Brother have restored theirs.
Can't swing it right now - still finishing my shoebox - would love to have this car though - I'm watching!
