Going to be a real nice car. I'm kinda partial to FF Model A's.

On my 26T I thought 46" with 40 juice, right? Nope, I added adaptors for spacers to make it sit center in the fender pocket. 48" with 40juice even on fendered 26Ts.

  6. Update.

It has been a while since my last update, and for good reason. I have been a busy guy.

Firstly I had to finish up the front floor, which is a removable assembly. The reason for this is future trans, brake services ect.

Secondly, I decided to fabricate a bolt in roll bar. Now there may have been a reference to a change in engine choice earlier in the thread, (hehe) and I will share more on that in the near future. But for now, there are some roll bar pics. I also finished up the floor and the holes for the roll bar to pass through, body mounts ect.

I added some extra bracing to the chassis as well. The extra power made me go a little overkill here but that's ok.

With all that stuff said and done, my buddy Beengameen (Ben) and I blew the little A to pieces. The last pics are of the frame in primer then low gloss black.

So on to more painting and finish work. Next I have a little welding to finish on the rear end. The brake rebuild is also coming up.

    Thanks for watching,

  10. Things are looking good!

Did you paint the frame while it was hanging from the hoist like that?

  11. Yes sir I did. I would just roll it outside, squirt it, and roll it in to dry. The paint is an Alkyd enamel from Sherwin Williams.

  12. Looks like it tuned out well!

  13. Sorry I missed your question a while back. So I'm torn on color choice. Maybe you guys can help me out with this. I am debating between gloss black and a green that's almost black. New GMC trucks have a really nice dark dark green metallic that I think would be killer on the little coupe. But then again black is a topper for this car. And I think if something is gonna be black, it better be able to walk the walk. And this coupe, my friends, will make no excuses.

What do you guys think. I value you opinion so lay it on me.

  14. You already have a green car....Make it Black.

  15. Ya. I know its probably the way to go. Nothing says for real like a nicely executed black body and paint job.

  17. I vote for black, too. Is your T coupe painted rock moss green? Just has that authentic Ford color tone, and rings true to the era.

On your F1 brakes, are you also using the F1 front spindles? I'm using F-350 spindles and brakes off a '60 tow truck, and to adapt I had to massage the smile in the axle to get the proper kingpin angle and also put in a spacer on the spindles.

  18. Well guys I'm still rolling along. One month from today to get it on the street. I have been slacking on my updates but I have surely been bustin ass.

So here is where I'm at. Basically, just painted everything and put it back together. Except for one huge thing, the engine. Its not a 283 but rather something a little more exciting. Ill do another post to explain its details but its a pretty wild little piece.

Anyway, here are some pics of its current state. I have to say that without my dad, this wouldn't be possible. He has contributed a lot to this project and I really appreciate it. He has also allowed me to plug up his shop for final assembly and that makes it all 10 times easier.

  19. I used f-1 spindles as well as the brakes to simplify the whole deal. The only thing I had to do was machine a different notch in the kingpin for the lock bolt. The steering arms and hardware for the earlier spindles fit perfect.

    Good luck,

  20. I forgot to mention the color question. Its a Mack fleet color from the early 60's. Its Omni MAE acrylic enamel. If I did it over I would have just gone with a single stage urithane. But to be true to the time and look, I opted for the enamel.

  21. Drove the coupe for the first time on Saturday. Its a screamer. More to come.

  27. Looks great, man! I've followed this one since the beginning. Glad to see it all come together and driving. It's hard to make excuses as to why my project isn't done when you're turning shit out like this! Keep it up!

One of my favorite aspects is that it is sans visor. Dreddybear's was the first one I'd see like that. To me, they are distracting and bulky looking. There are some sectioning/chop mods that could be made to make it all flow better, but just the absence does a lot for the look of the car. Awesome!

  30. Thanks for the compliments guys! I am trying to figure out how to upload a clip of the car driving from my smart phone. Anyone have any ideas?
