So I am pulling through the local Braum's Ice Cream store . The kid handing my ice cream says " I love the HAMB..." I am kinda like What? He points to my HAMB drags shirt and says...It's my favorite forum. We talked quickly about his projects and I drove off. Ya see, the hamb is everywhere.
Ran into a fellow HAMB'r walking down the street in my home town, he was from out of state on vacation and had a HAMB tee on. Amazing!!
I've run into one or two like that, over the years - always a magic moment. Then you go to an event, like the HAMB drags and the magic gets revved up a hundred times more!
i had an incident at work happen like that a while back,,some older guy(older than me!) was at the store ,and we were talking hotrods and i said "well you should check out the JALOPYJOURNAL.COM" and he said,",oh,..the HAMB?" ,,it kinda freaked me out,,,,
You guy's are depressing me even more, that i couldn't s****e together the dough for a HAMB shirt this year.So far i've only personally met one other HAMBer,at WoW (Abbotsford BC.),great to know you are out there.
Saw a fellow with a HAMB shirt at the Portland Swap Meet. I proceeded to show him my V-8th Air Force shirt (thanks to a talented Hamber). Good to see some kin-folk.
I was talking to an old timer I know about the current trends in cars.. He asked me if I had seen the HAMB. He doesn't have any cars now but loves looking at everybody else's. He said he gets a kick out of the what's traditional posts.. He told me they never worried about that ****. They bought or stole the newest stuff they could get their hands on.. EVILT
That happened to be me working at Braums, I hate working there! Anyways... Here's my old 57 Chevy... And here's my Jeep that I've got right now... Plus a little of what I've done to it:
Sheee-it! Those of you who think you are too far away from a Braum's should be in my shoes. At least wherever you are you can get a real hamburger. I really like their breakfast biscuits too....
Scrible, nice to meet ya. As we were driving off, my wife says.....You should have asked his screen name......I wasn't thinking. Nice cars BTW. El C, Bananna split with hot fudge and Curry.
Heres a little different story, I drove thru starbucks and the kid says I love your 32. I was shocked he knew what it was , than he asked the question "does it have air" than went on and on how hot it is in Texas and how he wanted a Rat Rod.
I wore my HAMB drags shirt to Monticello and/or Jamestown and Washington DC a couple weeks ago and not one of you spoke to me! What's up with that?
I mantioned a hangout on a HAMB thread a couple of years ago and got a PM from someone who used to hang out there the same time I did... but we never really knew each other. It works the other way too! But yeah, I'm seeing more and more familiar shirts when I'm at car events... HAMB... Hunnert Car Pileup... Billetproof... etc
I have worn a hamb shirt to concerts and run into guys, and worn it to huge car shows and never found anyone... Its funny where you find people.
it is crazy indeed....me, Bubba and Boom Boom are in Norman OK a few weeks back playing the casino, and there's a couple watchin', the lady has a hamb shirt on...I'm thinking, man, the hamb's all over.....even in this casino....turns out, it was Roothawg and his wife!! nice meeting you two! crazy man, crazy. Hami
Yeah it's pretty strange.............I wore my HAMB shirt to the L.A. Roadster show last year and never got stopped once.
