Dang, Mark, surely that's low. I'm gonna say 1.2 million....surely the most iconic custom of all time is worth as much as well optioned muscle car values. Please tell me that. LOL

From a collectors point of view I imagine they are willing to spend more on more main stream muscle cars like stated above, it's probably a safer investment and a wider audience to sell to at a later date vs this merc.

 

Without getting political, this is probably not the best time to sell a historic car. I think it will hurt the final price.
My guess is $1,450,000.

 

I don't have a guess on the selling price but for some reason I see it not meeting the reserve this time around.

I am more interested in seeing what the TV Tommy Ivo stuff brings plus the other cars out of the Runyon collection

I predict it doesn't sell. Interested buyers had a few months, at least, to make a deal with the family and it didn't seem to sell so unless Mecum bought it and think they can make more than anyone offered the family on it I don't see it making reserve.

 

You are right Mark, they normally do but then again we are not talking about what many consider to be the Holy Grail of Customs.

I predict the Hirohata Merc will set a new high mark in excess of 2 million. I only wish I was rich because I would be bidding. HRP
