Projects The Hitchhikers Guide Episode VI: Return of the Hitchhiker.... Hot Rod Model A banger

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Hitchhiker, Feb 15, 2013.

  1. I'm thinking about it, I'd like to but I really don't want to tear it that far apart and I haven't found a 4x4 s10 trans to keep my torque tube. I may run the v8 trans and do that one latter. we'll see what happens. Sounds like I need to come see you about some brakes and stuff.

Matt, Sounds like you are really enjoying your "A" Pickup. I would love to have a modified stocker (any syle) with just a few hop-up goodies to pep her up !

    Have fun this summer !

  4. Well, yesterday was my birthday. My girl got me some lights and I started making mounts. These will be the end plates, I just need to get some bar stock and finish grinding.

If the spacer doesn't work, smear the shifter thread with Vaseline before epoxying it that way it'll come off later.
    Cool build by the way.

I just found this thread. Great little pickup you have there, Matt. I like where you're going with it. Good stuff.

Bet there was a few choice words said on that one. Ah ya the wrist, on my second surgery and another plate sense the little motorcycle mishap and a lousy first doc.

  13. Some pictures from around Seattle. Enjoy. :)

Interlaken Blvd. like being in the woods 10 minutes from down town. It's also part of the Olmsted brothers designed park system Seattle has, a park system created by America's first Landscape architecture firm. Arguably one of the finest remaining examples. Survey began in 1903 and construction ended in 1936. Its a driveable greenbelt stretching across the city with parks every short bit. It has to be seen to appreciated.

Gasworks Park, Old gas works in the heart of the city turned city park. Only one of its kind.

Very cool. The Olmsted Bros. inherited their firm from their father who did the parks system in Buffalo where I grew up amongst Central park in NYC. The park system in Buffalo was the first coordinated system in the US and really is a highlight of the city.

It looks like father like son because the pics you've show look beautiful....only second to Henry Ford's design. :D

  24. Thanks! I'll show some more of their work in the future. I drive along there pretty frequently and their parks are one of my favorite places to take pictures in Seattle.

    Thanks!

  25. Time to put some HOT in this thing...rebuilt engine with Lightened flywheel and counterbalanced crank.

I've got a couple 97's and Mallory distributor, I pulled the trigger on a thomas 6.7:1 head, and I bought a repo thomas 2x2, but fear it may be a little much for this thing. I don't have either of these yet. I'll buy a Reds header soon.

Been tossing around the trans options. I'd like a t5, but the truth is I have the 39 trans already. I haven't found a t5 4x4 trans yet and I don't want to spend anymore than I have to out of pocket at this time. Looks like this is getting the nod for now. I'm going to clean it up and paint it this weekend.

  29. I really like the look of the stock steel floor without any wood in it. That was my plan for mine, if I can save it...
