  1. heck, the HAMB drags aren't 'til August. You still have time to make it!!

Hands down my absolute favorite current build on the site.

Don't let it burn you out, or get you down. Were lucky anyones even going through the all the work to bring back historic cars like this. It will be just as much fun and you'll be just as happy with it when it's completed.

Keep it fun. Take the time you need and don't let it get the best of you. That is an amazing undertaking. It will be worth it in the end.

How bout some kind of fund raiser at the HAMB drags, or B'proof? We could pass the hat or????

    P.S. Is it done yet????:D

It's on!!!! I can't believe we're going to Bowling Green. I just saw the car. It's baddass!!! I'm so used to seeing it in Bare metal and then primer, seeing it painted and lettered made it look like a giant model car. The debut will be at the Hot R od Reunion in Bowling Green!! It cost Todd everything he had in this world to finish this. Friendships got strained, Girlfriends are gone, bank account is empty. Todd you are the man!! Laser beam focus is what got this done. If you see Todd in Bowling Green, slap him on the back and hand him a beer. He damn well earned it. See you in Bowling Green!!!

  7. That's great news Mike. Hard to believe there will be at least 3 Bright Yellow Comp Coupes at BG this year! Who would have thunk.

See you all there.....and yes I did see it yesterday (thursday) in all it's splendor. To say it's fantastic is an understatement.

I'd like thank everybody for their support while I was in the prosess of the build of this car. The payoff was when Joe Hollish showed up on Saturday at the HRR and had his first look at it in person. I think he liked it. I'd also like to thank Bob Gladstone Owner of the "Michigander" T/F dragster for giving me the brakes at the last minute so I could take the car to Bowling Green. To Steve Timoszyk (my best friend), I could'nt have made this happen with out you. Thank you. And my girlfriend (Beth) for being so understandinding with all the late nights out in the garage. Also Mike the photo guy for all his hard work!! There are so many other people I need thank but I'll wait till it's time to make the sign for the car. It was also very cool to meet the people from the HAMB and put a face with a name. Watch for photo's to be posted soon-That's Mike's job. Todd

  13. It was great fun to meet you and to check out the car in person. The only thing we should have tried to do would have been to get all the comp coupes together for a group photo.

Thanks for all the kind words, and yes that Bob Gladstone is a HELL of a guy. I really enjoyed meeting everybody also. I'd also like to thank YOUNGB!TCH for all his hard BS (Body Work & Paint prep) work that he did to get the car ready.

Congratulations! I'm glad to see it made it there. That was my only regret about going to Cali, missing the debut of the Hollish coupe at the HRR. I'm looking forward to seeing more pics, come one Mike!

I can't post any till after they run the issue of Hot Rod Deluxe featuring the car. Of course ChevyGirl, you know I live half a mile from your friend and all it would take is one of your sweet smiles to get a private showing of everything I have. All the best shots have been saved for that article.

  25. Great job! We missed BG this year, again. I really wished I could have seen your ride! I 'Dig' it! Any chance at taking it to Indy next year?

Just to make things clear, I know not everyone reads the whole story and likes to look at the pictures, that's Ok, I'm the same way. This is not a restoration of the original car but a recreation with the original engine. That's why it's Miscalculation No.3 and not No.2. Thank you everyone for your kind words, that's really what makes it all worth the time to do it. As far as Indy goes, that still up in the air. Todd.

  27. We race at Indy ever year. It would be great to see you there next year. I hope you can make it! Did you make any passes with the car yet?

I just found this thread a day or two ago. It's a great inspiration for me to start something of mine own!

A few years back I found a picture in a book that blew my mind! Now, with a few years of crewing on a nostalgia fueler, I'm ready to start building myself a toy. This is my guiding light, the Einolander & Candee fueler...

I'd like thank "Mike The Photo Guy" for doing the write up in the Nov. 2009 issue of Hot Rod Deluxe and telling the story of the Hollish Bros. I'd also like thank Hot Rod Deluxe for finding the story worthy of printing. THANK YOU. Todd
