Great that you showcased Bob Owens beautiful and just restored Ian Cusey '32. I doubt that anyone familiar with '32 Fords could find any flaws in the build. All the '32 Roadsters that were shown at Pebble Beach were very significant and well received.
Sorry but in my opinion I don,t think Ken Gross,s car is significant, It has no known history before it was built by Dave Simard
Ken's car was shown but 'Not Judged'- Since he formed the Hot Rod class and lead our judging team, the Pebble Beach organizers allowed him to bring it for display only- And although his car was built in the 90s, it's been recognized as one of the top 75 Deuces of all time, so not a bad accolade...
Always a fun show. Being there to watch Bob & his crew take home some hardware made it even more special.
Congrats to Bob McGee and the ORIGINAL BUILDERS of these iconic Hot Rods. Also, nice work to the laborers/shops who were paid by the “winners” to restore these beautiful Roadsters…
Somewhere in a box in one of my storage sheds I have a probably now ruined copy of the Speed Tuning book that the Ian Cusey car was on. I dug out the now well read story on the car an now remember why I did remember it when I saw a photo the other day Found: 1932 Ford Deuce Roadster Graced Magazine & Record Album Covers (motortrend.com)
