Mark Jenny.....That dash is SICK.....So cool. Keep us posted on the progress as I would like to see it when it is done.
Not sure the dash I built for my 37 Plymouth belongs with these awesome dashes, but I thought I would post some pics maybe someone will enjoy them
I think gauges fit the application. For instance my 60 impala 2dr with a 380 HP 409 (transplant) had a Sun "football" tach mounted on the column and one single oil pressure gauge below the dash. The car was very business like and the interior looked it. Many years later I had a competitive blown alcohol car with only cockpit pyrometers. The oil pressure gauge was on the engine visible to the crew...that was all.
32 dash in my Model A coupe with a Grace and Co. insert. Still need an aluminum spun panel behind the gauges.
Please tell us more about that steering wheel. Something about the clear colored material it is made of reminds me of my childhood. Probably something to do with a memory of early toys. Really attractive set-up, nice!
Wheel is recast 46 lincoln. Redone by Keith at fifties ford.com in socal. He can actually cast them in just about any clear color. Made the horn button also.
My brother used all the extra '56 Ford bits he could in his Deuce - engine, trans, pedals, column, wheel, wheels, wheel covers and gauges: Dave
Only thing I need in a dash is... (sorry bout the EFI) Oil light is in the hole that was used for the trip button.
I like my Holden guages, even though oil/temp/gen are mere idiot lights. Had to fab a new speedo needle. Original plastic one was sun-fucked.
