The Hoe down is a pretty cool show. It has grown to a couple hundred cars but with it has come some muscle cars and streetrods. It's held at a really cool bar called Kahunaville. Calling it a bar is an understatement. The place is huge with a tiki theme. It pulls a lot of cool traditional cars in. I'm sure if you wanted to come down the guy that runs it would set you up with a great spot and treat you like royalty. He's a cool guy! The Hoe down is in the fall but they do put on a show in the spring. I haven't been to that one yet. Clark
...................very cool show. Bring the Roswell Rod and have a blast!! http://www.hotrodhoedown.com/event_info.html
as stated before the hoe down is at a bar called kahunaville in wilmington delaware. the location is pretty good given that its just off of route 95 and easily accessable. the fall show is really pretty good.. I havent been to the spring show either and i will not go as long as its on the same weekend as carlisle. the fellow who puts on the show really would go out of his way for you if you were willing to bring the roswell rod.. spike knows him well.. later sawzall
The Hoe Down has grown from about 25 cars to over 800 in about 5 years. its always held the second week of September and the current location is Kahunnaville in Wilmington Delaware. Very close to I-95. Along with the 800 cars come a few billet-laden ****-mobiles, but theres also the Alexander Bros. Pontiac and The Aztec Barris car. Its only 10 or 15 bucks and its well worth that price for what you get. Try that at Lead East. Theres also a Spring show called the Rock-N-Rods held at the same location in April, but everyone calls it the "Spring Hoe Down". Run by the same guy (Furry Couch AKA Professor Ouch). I love these shows mainly because they're so close to home, but also because thats where I find so many of my feature cars for (now) Traditional Rod and Kulture Magazine. There are usually at least four or five that are feature quality there every year. add to that the bands (Big Sandy ETC...) and Lead East doesn't even come close. Never will. But hey, thats just one guys opinion. I'm not really into 75 year old ladies in poodle skirts and Doo wop Geritol addicts. Spike
Thanks for the input guys...... The big h***el with dragging that "HUGE" trailer is gas at 2 plus bucks a gallon with that big v-8 in the tow rig!!!!!!!!! But would i get any of them "skinny" rock-a-billy chicks....LOL FRITZ
But would i get any of them "skinny" rock-a-billy chicks....LOL FRITZ
There are no such thing. Pick one or the other. Do you want them skinny or Rock-A-Billy? You can't have your cake and expect an Orcabilly not to eat that too. Spike
i would never ever talk anything in delaware up to be great, but i really like the hoe down....real relaxed and alot of hambers usually go. furry no dought would go out of his way for you...he's a great guy

OK I'll take a punk chick and a Margarita.......! The kid thats works for me wants meto go with the car, but after Detroit i aint really bucks up for a road trip FRITZ
I like the Hoedown and have been to all of them, excluding the spring ones simply because I didn't even know about them. Furry works really hard to put it together and it's one of those shows that I end up running into a lot friends, so I always have a good time.
hahahahaaaa!!!!!
.............that's "Kustom7777's" shoebox in the background! Come on down Fritz. Maybe you could sell t-shirts for gas money instead of giving them away..........
Dekey defined best I think. A Chuck E. Cheese with a cool vibe, cool tiki, and beer. Hot Rod Hoedown is definitely a make it event. Just a goodtime, simple. No bad vibes, at***udes or **** like that.
My friends have gone before, but I've never been there. I've heard lots of the cars are a little crude. I was thinking of going this april with my 47, but seeing as how it's not even going to be on the road for another week or two I don't think that I'll want to take that long of a ride right off the bat. And my friend's flatty in his deuce is gonna blow if he tries to go on I95 again.
both shows are worth going to...lots to do...burlesque, bands,cars........maybe we(hambers) colud meet up?..also thats my bucket next to kustom7777 's shoebox...behind the guy with the skirt...phil
I 've only been to last year's event and it was cool as hell man. Didn't get to drive my ride up, but hope to this year.
Worth the trip and remember in Delaware there is no Sales tax. See, there is something good there Delaware George
