Personally, I think the above quote sums up more than the rear suspension.
On another note it'll be nice seeing someone "using" one of the X-3's. Alot of folks have them and very few use them.

  2. Sorry I must have been looking at my Metric callendar.

I would but I have little military commitment that weekend and I close on my new house Aug 7th so this coming month sucks for me going anywhere on my days off.

    Thanks though.

Ok guys, here are some updates. Sorry I haven't posted earlier. Just too busy with all the shows, etc.

Mocked up on the front frame section on the table:

Machining the Nicson cover to take at Crower/Hilborn style pump:

GuyOnTheHAMB trimming the firewall so we can sling the stroked HEMI in place:

The gearbox in place: We're not running the Lakewood Scattershield, we'll be running a QuickTime shield, which has WAY more room for the three pedals.

I love how you can make a traditionally styled hot rod with some serious HP hook! Why have 800 or so HP if you can only plant 250 of it???

How do you prevent those nasty brown wasps from making nests inside the brakes?

Do you have another shot of the rear now that you have added the second set of bracing (how is it mounted to the pumpkin?)? I am guessing the bar braces are all setup to minimize twist on the rear? I would like to see a detail shot of the welds between the lower cross bar and the pumpkin.

Is the rear a floater or are the rear frame rails going to be added later?

I enjoy looking at work done with that much care . The time to lay out the holes drilled in the backing plates, the mounts fabed up for the scatter shield. All that takes alot of time. The TIG welds are nice too. Keep up the great work.

Dunno. And this is for Scooter, but also to answer your question:

Jr. Thompson stroker crank. Should be around 442 CID according to Jr. himself. Mondello prepped heads, Edelbrock X3, 6 of Rochesters finest prepped by Larry at Automotion, a rare earth magnet equipped vintage Cirello Mag prepped by Len Huges pushing 3.5+ amps, JE light weight slugs. All on pump gas. Larry says there is a guy in Cali thats running something similar, and he's pushing 650+ on pump gas. But who really knows until it's on the dyno.

Yeah. I bet you were. :D

With PapaJ sitting in the car, seat padding, helmet, roll bar padding and the required room between helmet and roll bar, 5" was all I could muster. Being a coupe, it'll already be 10# of shit in a 2# coupe!

Not to pick nits and I understand what you mean but I'm not sure "reciprocating" is the proper description for turning a heavy rear tire/wheel combo. I concur the lighter wheel/tire combo will help.

I'm sure he meant "rotating" weight. Littleman knows his shit. Everybody miss-types sooner or later.

Thanks! The original template was done by Magarotto Studio a few years ago, but I have handled it for the last 3 years.
