I got the instructions when i picked up the shifter for dads coupe, but he has them filed some place with all the paperwork for the every part on the car. It may take me some time to locate them.
If you have all the parts, i can walk you through the installation ai it's fairly straight foward. there are two brackets the shifter body bolt to, an adjustable rod and a shift lever the triangler bracket bolts on using the top two transmission tailshaft bolts. The other bracket looks a little like a bent l bracket bolts to the first bracketand the transmission mount bolt. the rest should be fairly easy to figure.
This is a link to the thread i started a few years ago when i built a reverse lockout for dads coupe with a Torqueflite and Autostick 1.

Hey, just picked up a Hurst auto stick 1 for a TH350. Problem is I don’t have a trans lever or linkage rod. I have seem previous posts saying you can use the 5759 trans lever, but what would be an alternative for the TH350 rod? Ty in advance!

I had to make a new rod for the Auto-stick using a steel rod from the hardware store. If iremember right, the rod is 1/2" and the adjuster is end threads were 1/2-20. the adjuster is the same as what a hurst comp***ion plus shifter uses. For the shift lever, you may be able to be able to modify the stock chevy lever.

You can buy adjustable trans levers also that allow different attachment points to shorten or lengthen the throw. I have one on my trans I got to make sure my shift indicator lines up with the detents.
3/8" rods and heim ends work great to make a new rod work.

I was thinking that I would use the 5759 hurst lever and use 3/8 linkage rod with heim joints on each end to ensure the proper distance. I need to make sure the the distance from the trans lever slot to the rod hole is 2 1/4 to keep the geometry correct.

The Autostick I'm putting together for my buddy has a broken but salvageable TH400 mounting bracket. I need a bracket for a TH350, before I alter mine to work, does anyone have what I need? Trade mine if you want plus money your way.

20251025_060435.jpg This is the shifter plus a boot and stick I picked up. Yes, that rod is for the TH400, I may part with it after I work out the linkage.

FWIW - The TH400 adapter is harder to find than the TH350 adapter. I think you would be better off finding a TH350 adapter (Ebay?) and selling the TH400 one. When I was installing my Autostick in my 56 Chevvy a few years back, it took me a while to find the right adapter, and I paid a premium price for it.

That's what it is! I'll probably end up making my own and selling the piece I don't need.

Does anyone know if an Auto Stick 1 would work in a 1967 Camaro with a OEM floor mount auto shifter with console? I was trying to figure out if the trans tunnel hole needs to be altered.

If your car was a manual transmission from the factory, maybe. Auto shifters dont have a very big hole, so om sure you would have to cut the tunnel. The hole needs to be pretty large like a four speed.

My understanding is that the 67 Camaro had the same size hole for auto and manual transmissions.

I modified my Hurst Auto Stick 1, it was original installed in a off topic GTO with 400cid & TH400. I made it work in my off topic SS El Cameno 454 & TH400, the hole in the floor was only about 3"×3", to make the new plates for any Auto Trans just lay out a pattern made of thin Aluminum (like roof flashing) if I can do it anybody can. Once you make your Aluminum pattern fit your Auto trans tail shaft trace it out on the 3/8" to 1/4" flat stock, ( you can use the pictures other HAMB members have put up for all to see) measure, cut, drill then weld her together. It will save your good hard earned money for other Hot Rod part's in the long run. We Motor Heads all enjoy working with our hands & our mind it gives us a great feeling of accomplishment doing the work ourselves, right...
It really isn't that hard to make a Shifting Rod either, Auto Trans have factory bracket on the side shift mechanism, I used the SS El Caminos TH400 factory trans part's, I just inserted the Rod into the top it was flat and already had a hole in it, adjust the shifter Rod as needed then snug the jam nuts together and your ready to drive, bees knees...

Yes, its easy to make. Here's a picture of a Auto Stick 1 TH350 bolt on bracket, pictures from other HAMB members.

Ebay, Transmission Doctor I believe it's called has a Auto Stick 1 TH350 bolt on bracket for over $230, thats not for me. I'd rather have the fun teaching & making the homemade TH350 Bracket with my Grandson Bobcat. Making memories with family is worth so much more I believe.

Fabbing a bracket out of steel is the easy part. Hurst heat treated the brackets, I'm sure. Possibly not needed on an automatic shifter, but it would make me feel better to treat it.
Nimrod, you don't look old enough to have a grandkid!
