Do NOT worry about what others say about the price ;) It was your money so they can kiss your a## ...

That said ... It's a good thing you are 20 years old ... cause a old guy like me ( 61 years young ) would most likely not live long enough to fix it

Ya definately got your work cut out for you, but remember even Jim Sibley had to start learning somewhere and look at what he does. If I remember correctly, this is a step up from what I remember of the pics of the 5 window too. Good luck - and with having more time than money this should work out for you in getting your dream car.

That's right Dan. Anyone who thinks $5,000 is too much to pay for the highly desirable 32 3 window... must be some kind of fiberglass street beast lover! You have your whole life to whip it into shape. Just don't be in a hurry. Rock and Roll!

If you're happy that is what matters. I have to ask, was it in a fire at some time?

    Hey Dan,.....

I'm really happy for you !, The sub rails, floor and door bottoms seem to be really tight, sure it will take some work, but it's a real Deuce 3 Window,.... don't let ANYBODY discourage you, personally I think the doors and cowl would easily go for the 5K.

Keep us posted on the build,... if I can help in any way, just holler.

I find it funny when people say stuff like: I'd never pay that for a duece!

Thats why they don't have a 32 3 window. and you do! kick ass man.

Don't listen to the haters, you can't beat real steel. Was this thing close to seattle? Any history on it? I would assume its an old roundy round car by the damage. 20 years old with a 3w coupe...rough or not I would say its still quite an accomplishment. I had to wait till the ripe age of 27 for my 3w coupe. Good luck with it, Johnny

The car was in Cashmere, WA. Which is by Wenatchee. Its on the other side of the pass, so the metal was still in great condition. Its as solid as the day henry popped it out in most spots. Im sure it took a few laps around the dirt track in its day. It doesnt need much as far as patch panels go. Only the quarter corners, but not because of rust. Just from being severly beaten to the point of no return. The only rust out in the entire car is right abouve the header panel in a couple spots. Its just going to take a lot of massaging. I really truly believe that this car can be all the way brought back to be as nice as any other 32 3 window on this site. It will just take time and persistance. Im just happy to have a car with very solid metal. The 5w was not as workable as this car will be for me. The 5w was a seattle car and was kinda thin so I sold it to somebody that has more skill than me. I bought some old metal working books and plan on doing a majority of the work myself. Im sure i will have some help here and there, but I really think i can pull this off.

I sure am proud of you,, young, gutsy, and know what you want. I'm sure you will succeed with your plans.

  17. Looks like a deal Dan. Shit, theres guys out there that'll tell you just about anything is too far gone. Sure, the car has had a rough life but look what it is. It aint no model A or something. You could part that thing out and MAKE money. and remember, the more you straiten it, the better it will look and the more it will be worth.
Congrats man, I know how bad you wanted it :D

Go, Man Go!...Damn, I only wish I was that focused and driven to accomplish-something, hell, anything, at 20 years old!!

Soak up all the encouragement, advice, knowledge and good vibes you can, and have at it!...if your effort is as strong as your dedication clearly is, I expect we'll see a pretty special car in the end...Best of luck, I can't wait to see some more (progress) pics!!

I've already got my deuces and I'm glad I do. I bought mine a long time ago when they were slightly more abundant. I never wanted a 3w, but a 5w was to die for. Got one. and the 2dr that I drive almost daily is going to be my funeral car.:) I passed an origional roadster on that was about the shape of your 3w to someone with way more talent than I've got and picked up a Brookville body to satisfy my topless urge.
I aplaude you for your outlook and be sure to keep us up to date as you forge ahead with your dream. Make the naysayers eat their words.

Good for you and good luck. If there is a will then there is a way. Keep in mind that it is yours so screw everyone else, and as long as you are happy that is all that matters. For inspiration check out flamedabone on here. Needless to say he has done wonders with some "rough" cars to say the least. keep the pics coming.

This sort of excitement & euphoria is what it's all about!!!

$5K to make you feel this good - worth every cent - & cheaper than a drug habit.

Congratulations & can't wait to see it started!

    Spence.

  27. I'd be tempted to save another 5K & send it to Jim Sibley with instructions to stop when the 5K was gone.

I can't wait to see how this one progresses.

when i see that car I hear the begining to Johnny Cash's John Henry song with the hammer clinkin on some metal. You got work ahead but you'll be stoked what style you goin with it?

I do take back my previous comment about the 5k. I looked it over again and you got a lot more than just the body, which is still worth the 5k but I wish it wasnt so someday I could afford one. 32's are just so darn pricey anymore and its only getting worse. Glad you got your hands on one now. I can only imagine what they will be worth when you finally get it done.

I also like the 5k idea to Jim Sibley!!! I wish I could send him my Model A. In fact maybe I'll start saving and once I have money like that I'll PM him or someone like him and have a talk.

Good work and looking forward to the Build.
