I saw this recently and about s#/t myself, I thought I knew all the H.P. SBC factory intakes.
Apparently only made it to the prototype stage, only a couple slipped through the cracks (GM backdoor).

 

Anybody ever see one of these? Y Block



SD Bathtub manifold

 

Two blowers and a power steering pump all driven with a single V belt? I'm thinking (dangerous I know) that belt slippage could be a problem.
Or is there another drive lower down that isn't shown in the picture?

 

I see three belts in two of the photos but can't make out their tracking.

 

I think all three belts end up with some amount of wrap around the blower drive pulley below the PS pump. I think! I thought carbs had to be "boxed" for blow through to work?

 

First photo shows the trombone like transfer pipe between the two stages of this blower on the 1928 Detroit Special and then the long tube to the intake manifold. In the last photo the trombone is gone, replaced by the shorter c-shaped tube from the first to second stage of the blower.
Dr. Sanford Moss was a supercharging expert employed by GE, he moonlighted on this project and was paid $5000 for the design work.

 

Looks like SBF rockers; maybe after market?
