hey Empire32... thats 1 unique little rod, i like it. 6 cyl. chevys are damned good engines. so good in fact that TOYOTA coppied them in the 50s. did you know that? not many people do! your new friend in texas U.S.A. call me POP..are old FART! HA!
I remain inspired by this project. Your bench seat will be much more comfortable if you cut holes in the base where your bottom rests, and cover the opening with woven straps. I'm sure you can find a how-to somewhere on the HAMB. I know this from personal experience; makes a world of difference.
I did this and with 2" of foam it is like a Cadillac. When I get the final upholstery done I'll probably reduce the foam to 1". Very comfy. Oh, and make sure you get some support under your legs at the front of the seat. Pete
Some work those days: No pictures: rear brakes rebuilt, front end finished (new kingpins, nuts & bolts), added some more rivets in the frame. With pictures: rear lever shocks from an english car (need now to do the brackets on the rear end) Alternator bracket done (will be a generator later) also a bracket for the clutch system. and done some engine turned aluminium experimentations...
Last update (sorry no pictures) everything is parted out, and the final welds of frame will be done soon. After that, I will built the stuff again and finish lots of stuff, making brake lines, fuel line, exhaust, etc.. I hope to make a first road test the next spring/summer !
Interesting bracing inside the channel. Never saw that done before. Are you a bridge engineer??!! Keep up the good work. Mart.
no, not an engineer, and I don't fund this by myself: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1932-Ford-Frame-Assembly,3437.html
I really like what you are doing here. It gives me inspiration to use my 292 for something. Please keep the updates coming. Mark.
I love this build. I just picked up the front half of a 27 touring. And this build has been alot of motivation! Keep up the good work!!
I fund some time yesterday to work a little bit on the modified. All the boxing plates are cut & tacked, and, after the pictures, 50% of the welds was done.
Etienne, Looks like you made some great progress. Looking forward to your report when you make that first cruise ! 41 Dave
