Very nice build. On the safety foam issue be careful . Alcohol, Methanol, and Ethanol fuels are not recommended with some safety foam. The water content in these fuels will cause the safety foam to deteriorate. You could create some issues especially if you are running Webers.

Can you post a picture of the nose buck?

  4. I use to put the Black/Dark Grey ones in the tanks I did for JR, I believe he still use's them. The tank in his 33 was the first one we did this way, been on the road a while now. Cardwells in Auckland, usually advertise in PetrolHead.

Wow Fleet-master, I'm just blown away by that Trackster. I noticed the front clip of Shrapnels Model 40 in his avatar too. Are all you Kiwis IFS and metal-men extrordinaire? I've been around hot rods, race cars and back-yard mechanics, literally, since I was born and I've never known anyone that can do that level of work. I guess I'll have to find a better class of grease-junkie to hang around with!

hey there W E Mack...thank you for the compliment!! theres a few guys here who can do high end work but even here we're in the minority. NZ industry has trained some real top notch professionals over the years , and not just in automotive trades.
Its kinda weird really cos theres a real tall poppy love/hate relationship towards our own folk who do well ...but generally ..we don't let that hold us back!! :p:p we try to punch as far above our weight as we can!!;)

Build looks great, awesome metalwork and stance, though I would have gone with a straight axle, but opinions are like a..holes, everyones got one. You're right about the tall poppy syndrome in this country, in my shop we do high end paint on rods and classics (Cascade Autofinish - www.showpaint.co.nz), there's always someone looking for faults and trying to cut you down. Oh well, the knockers are usually the ones who do little themselves .Re your fuel tank issue, I guess you,ve already checked out Explosafe? a mate of mine builds boat tanks and is required to use this for govt. contracts, maybe worth a look and displacement is not an issue as the stuff is really just a giant steelo pad! Pete Osbourne does some cast posts for a cabriolet that are swept back and could be a good starting point, we used some on a 34 roadster as a starting point and worked OK. Keep up the good work.

Congrats on the wedding. Hope it doesn't bring a halt to the hot rod build.
