  1. Thanks everyone!! Here's some more from the weekend...

I got the dash cut and extended it for the old SW panel. I hammered out some little round corners and welded them in. I thought I took more pics of the process, but I guess not. I still have to metal finish it but it came out all right. I think it took longer to make the insert than it did to rework the dash :).

The insert is made from the storm door that I replaced on my front door. I felt like it was something that a kid in the 50's would have used.

I also cleaned up my seat springs to ready them for upholstery.

    I'm waiting, too! :)

See you guys in Austin in a few days!

  19. Ok folks, big news! It actually freakin' works! This is a crappy vid from last night. Sorry about the sideways part, we are new . That's my cute wife filming and commenting :). I am trying to load more from today...

She wired the lights for me, hence the excitement :)

  20. There is still a lot to do but that will not keep me from tearing up the streets a little. I still need to restructure the driver's door (still wood), finish the passenger door, then run the glass channel, figure out some window lifts, and the list goes on.

I gotta say, I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get to this point. Here's a walk around from earlier today.

Oh, and for it's worth, the stains on the driveway are from our other crappy cars, haha!

Sounds great man, congrats! Driven to the round up ?

  24. Thanks fellas! It does feel awesome! I've never built a car from the ground up before, so the feeling of the first drive and the nervous excitement was almost immeasureable.

Here comes the shitty part however. While I did register to be at the Round Up, I don't think I can get the bugs worked out in time for such a long trip.
My freshly re-cored radiator is leaking. My gas tank is somehow leaking out of the seam on top? It is not even a 1/4 full? The throttle is sticking ( that's no bueno), the brakes are soft, and there is some engine noise that has me concerned.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I feel like a heel, but am pussing out on driving it down . I don't own a trailer so we'll be rockin' the Windstar.

This will be our first Round Up and we look forward to seeing all y'all! Don't kick me in the junk too hard for being a looser!
