Gooooood Lord it's been a long time. Front Wilwood's are on... and tight, tight, tight. This car is guaranteed to stop.

Windows are coming apart for cleaning, polishing, and re-sealing.

All the remaining brightwork I couldn't handle is ready to go including the grille, and the elusive 1964 Falcon rear aluminum trunk trim piece. A local metal polisher known mostly by "Matsuda," is an artist and a gentleman. He takes his sweet time and works miracles on old metal. Anyway, the front wing windows are going to chrome - I think - and right now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to proceed with the front engine situation - pulleys, pumps, and fans. Right now it feels like math, and I hate math.

Also, I've got to get a transmission in. I think I'm going to fall on the monetary sword and order up a TCI Street Fighter on the recommendation of some friends.

Man I dig your kustom Falcon! I gotta say "kustom" and "Falcon" aren't two terms you usually hear together but you're really making some good decisions and sticking to a cool plan. Love the color, the lace, the motor, the floor pan, it's going to be awesome! A down-sized kustom seems right with the times.

    Back on track!

Ramon at Vintage Air knows how to handle customers right; I've got a Front Runner accessory drive kit, and an A/C unit getting put together for the Falcon.

I'll be spending July 4th tightening up the front suspension and getting the rear put together.

Jacked up the old bird, pulled the axles with the (un)help of O'Reilly and their axle puller and slide hammer.

Wedged myself under the car with a 900 pound third member and threw it in the housing. Bolted it up, and cranked on the parking brakes, axles, rotors, and calipers.

Went to throw on the security wire on the rear brakes to keep the retaining bolts in place, and realized I had a problem with the brake hats. The studs on the rear are 1/2 inch, but the non-threaded portion near the axle flange is about 1/16th larger, so the hats don't butt up to the mounting surface. Now the hats have to be bored to fit the studs, because I'm not pulling the axles again. The studs are staying.

I'm a pansy, so I quit the garage at about 3:30. I hope next weekend is better than this one.

Yeah, you're right, I was over estimating a little :p

I also used quite a bit of RTV, so it's not looking as clean around the housing as I'd like, but it should be sealed like Fort Knox. Now that I've said that, watch for some special posts where I walk you through the process of some one else fixing my terrible third member job to repair a leak.

The TCI AOD I ordered is at Boling Brothers, along with an aluminum 4 row radiator and 16" electric fan. The AOD requires a specific kickdown cable from Lokar, as well as a Lokar throttle cable bracket to fit the EZ EFI system on the Performer RPM intake.

    Getting there.

Love the car. The color is perfect and the lace even better! I'm working on a 63 1/2 HT and have been considering a lace panel job for it. Great job!
