Yeah. I hear no springs and no castor. Made it go streight. True?

This was my first year at Bonneville, though I have kept up on the history over the years with a lot of reading / magazines / books etc. We stayed at the Econolodge and luckily this is where the SCTA folks were staying. I was poolside having a few beers and struck up a conversation with Curt Giovanine. He's so humble I hadn't a clue who he was. Over a few hours he gave me a great history lesson, introducing me to or telling me who everyone was. Naturally I recognized a lot of the names and the stories and BS were really flyin'. Then he started telling me about his Dad, Bob and the Giovanine/Spurgin Chevy. This is one of my all time favorite cars, Really that was your Dad?? Anyway he had some great stories on the original cars history as well as the recreation below (another favorite). What a cool evening...I'll never forget it.

I just want to go on record as saying, this ****s.

I have been searching for this thread for a couple of days in my spare time. Hoping to see some very specific pictures of a car I remember at the beginning of this thread and now I see this? (image below)

It's bad enough for this to happen to a few pics mid-thread but for ****'s sake if you're going to start a thread like this and fill multiple posts with images it would be nice to drop them directly onto the HAMB so they can exist as long as the thread will.

Fifty plus pictures out of this thread are missing now.

I realize this is kind of like looking a gift horse in the mouth... but I think most people reading this while scrolling up to look at the thread understand my frustration?

So thank you for posting the pictures, Justin B. Could we please get them back at some point?

kevin, calm down a little, the reason they all got deleated was i closed my photobucket account because some of my images were being used with out my permission by a t shirt company. i've slowly been adding pictures to a new account and will try and have them back in this thread by the end of the week.

Hey, I'm sorry. I realize this was not the most tactful way to handle things. This just happened to be the third thread I had recently searched out (all different subjects) only to find the pictures were just gone because they were hosted somewhere else and the original poster has moved or deleted them.

Picture heavy tech with missing images is the worst.

And thanks for trying to get them back up.

it's the red one with the extra long nose. i know, i know... i ***** at my dad all the time about how horrible the car looks but "form fits function". it's okay 'cause once it's in my hands it's going back to how it should/used to be.

  14. I , like alot of you love the old pictures and history of lakes and Bonneville racing.
The cars are amazing. That "look" we strive for goes back a long ways. The variety of cars and imagination that goes into those machines is mind boggleing.
a gr*** roots thing like drag racing used to be. I want to go to Speed week and Bonneville too.

Not my Cessna. Another UA employe who flew up to see what was going on. He later flew it into the ground. Don't know if it was ever rebuilt. No one hurt badly.

These are my friend (he's on the HAMB but I don't not sure what he goes by on here) and mine. They were built in our own shops and our driven.
