Thanks for all the replies guys.
Mitch looks like you did well, magazine wise at the swap meet.
When next I am down that way I have a couple for you. I may even wrap them in a special envelope.
Tom, don't give up your day job. I have been modeling all my life. There's no money in it. Just the constant outlay for kits and diecast.
The last lot of black and white images I showed were taken by a guy a lot of us know.
Robbie took the last shot below. They both include his roadster. The first features Robbie himself on the right and Rita's brother, Michael on the left.
The next shot is one Robbie staged featuring his roadster along with Renee' and Sam.

Seems to have gone quiet here again.
I guess I had better get something happening.
How about some of my way different striping.
Here's the lid of my big tap and die set.

I have done many tool boxes as give aways at shows over the years.

As well as many Christmas cards featuring many unique faces of Santa's helpers. You need a good imagination for these!

I don't want to let the thread die down. Geoff don't go to hard on me. One of my takes on the classic.

    Thanks guys for the replies.
Simon that is a great shot. Robbie was has always been one to take his time setting up for a shot.
Roddy I can never get enough of those shots from the past. I just like the feel of times past. I guess especially taken with the cameras we used to use. But I do love my digital, even though it is an older one.
Wardog, nice work. I have done a couple of those Kincrome coolers.
I have done a number of Harvey's over the years.
Von Dutch is my striping inspiration. He was an individual who did his own thing. I think he was very much misunderstood. I think much of that is ,he was to a degree a genius. With that, I think that person can become somewhat alienated in the world. Because those genius' amongst us ordinary people, tend to think very differently and can also be seen to be very eccentric.
That's just a few of my basic thoughts from what I have read and seen of Von Dutch's world.
Ok because of that I will show some more striping from my world.

As much as I like the shot Robbie took of his roadster by the side of the road, I just had to mess with it.
This shot could be good inspiration for my own channeled roadster.

It doesn't look bad in sepia tone either.

Our driveway, not long after I did the deal with Mick. Maybe late '97 early '98.

Photoshop before I had a computer. Scissors and tape. Getting it looking better.

I don't want to even think when I last worked on the roadster. But it is still here and registered!

Thanks Yblock. I thought the rest of the world had forgotten about this thread.
Peter ( Stork ) Vansittart's sport coupe is probably best know for it's yellow guise.
But I loved it also when it first hit the streets in it's grey primer, as seen in your last shot. Will always remember the grooved M&H racemasters he ran on the rear. It always had the Killer windsor.

Loving this thread very enjoyable and brings back many memories from old aussie mags. I caught up with Tony on the reliability run had a great chat, you really should come along next year. And bring your brushes i need some art on my pickup to match your effort you did on my FX years ago at the Picnic. Still love it. Troy

Troy it was really good to meet you and Drewfas on the run, had a real good time that weekend , meeting great people that like real home built hotrods . I haven't been on here for a while as I've been really down with my back pain and my depression, had a very shit full week and I am hoping to have a better one this week. Geoff I really like Troy's whodaky you did on his FX man. And it was good catching up with you also Grant....Tony.

I have read the thread build front to back and am very immpressed. I know it is a long way, but hope you and your Aussie buddies can make the LonestarRoundup in Austin held every April. Met some ROAD DEVILS in '13 who were from all over Europe, one wearing a kilt. Really neat guys. Can't wait to see the 'Grasp" when you finish it. And, thanks for pointing the subtle differences between Aussie and American Model 40's. Learned something new.

  27. I still have that issue Tommy and always loved that car. Hell I even tried to buy it off the current owner when it was still powder blue haha.

PS: I'm running for PM soon so vote for me ;)
PSS: When are we catchin up for a hot rod breakfast along with Steve & Gomez ?

    ;)
