Here's a few from my water-slide decal collection that have yet to be posted ... AUTOLITE Spark Plugs (circa 1940s): HURST (circa 1963): ANSEN - Top Eliminator Mag Wheels (circa 1966):
Growing up around Detroit, all us performance geeks couldn't wait to stick a "Ramchargers" sticker on our cars. I never thought they would go out of business, but eventually they did. No more stickers to be had.
Oh man I HAVE to get me one of those Jegs ones with the Austin Gasser! Here is one of my favorites; And these..... Doc.
This is a painted metal replica of an old sign, from the wall of my racecar trailer, plus a pic of the car that lives in there with it (in case you're curious)
Mazooma, this is great! Have you any idea the age of it? I first started going to Blairs around '58 & I don't remember this. I only recall his logos with the $ sign replacing the letter S in his name.
Hey! as long as I'm looking through all these cool old decals, how about a personal plea... My dad owned a large speed shop in St.Paul MN. from about 1962 to 1973. It was called Racing Unlimited. Our company logo on the decals was a cartoon of a duck on a hopped up tricycle. I believe he was chomping a cigar, and there were speed lines coming off his body and trike. Does this sound familiar to any of the Minnesota guys that have been around awhile? Does anybody have one? The last time I saw the logo was on a vent wing in a car in a wrecking yard in about '81 or so, so my memory of it is hazy at best. Thanks, Chip
Might have been, I know that there was allot of generic art turned into logos in those days. My dad did have allot of money behind him in those days though, so I would have expected pro art. Do you have a decal from this other shop you can post? I'd love to see it.
A logo that we used at our track during the sixties....plus others from the Delaware County Timing Association and my Dad's car club, the Rod Benders
