it goes in a circle...does it really matter which way it goes, as long as there isn't a diode in the way?

  2. as long as the diode is pointed the right way it makes no difference ;)

The "hole theory" states that as 1 electron jumps from 1 atom to another atom with an open space it leaves a hole behind it in the rings of the atom it left, which allows another electron from another atom to jump to that one, leaving another hole behind, which gets filled when another electron fills it, leaving another hole behind, and on & on millions/billions off times as the electrons are drawn toward the lower potential. So as electrons move from negative to positive, holes move from positive to negative. As far as I know that is the most current or widely held theory of electricity. There are some who think it is the movement of holes from positive to negative that provides electrical current. This is all theory, nobody really knows for sure. It is only rather recent that an actual electron was photographed for the first time, prior to that this was just our best guess as to what electricity is.

What I really find interesting is that in an AC circuit the electrons just go back and forth, reversing direction 50 or 60 times per second, they never actually leave the conductor where they're located. But their movement back and forth jumping from 1 atom to another causes an electrical current.

Anyways...when I sold the car a couple months ago, and Tom got it from me in Albuquerque and drove to Roswell, he experienced this issue as well. Once. It happened as he was driving past the the ranch where the Roswell Incident happened in 1947. Doesn't get any better than that!

I had replaced the fuse with a self resetting breaker. Somehow it popped, the car died, and he stopped and turned things off. Then the car worked fine when he turned things back on. But it was enough of an adventure that it has turned into a T shirt...

And if you buy one, you get a chance to win the car!

    pretty wild.
