wow, those brookville doors fit the original body pretty damn well. Are you going to be able to get the red paint matched?

It took 13 hours to fit both of those doors.
Two hours on one and 11 hrs on the other.
They came out with a good gap and fit. PIA
Hopefully the color can be matched.
Frank had another race vehicle that he raced often built in the 30's. It had the number four in an English styled script that we have a picture of.
He intends on replicating this number on the doors of this car.
Thanks and Matt says the same!

The story of the two cars had me blown away, but now seeing pics all I can think is WHOA MOMMA  What a find that was indeed, I'm currently in a pursuit of a car with history kind of like that in my area, not as hamb friendly but it's on my dream car list 69 Dodge Charger 440 6 Pack 4 speed, black on black, said to be stashed in the woods in a certain area, I've heard it from several people but never gotten the exact location, if nothing else all I want is the engine and ******.

ok, tell me about the shock mounts on this frame. i absolutely hate the bolt on lowers available and I don't want to drill my axle for the shock studs. did they just weld a bolt onto the end of the lower wishbone mount?? if so, I think I might try it.

    Yes,
the lower mount had a bolt welded onto the wishbone. The upper mount was never installed that we could tell. Its an aftermarket that we thought blends with the rest of the ***y.
The rear shock mounts are using a stock style backing plate "bolt on" for the lower mt and a welded bolt into the rear cross member for the top mt.
Its surprising how this roadster rides!
Very smooth and not choppy, steering is tight and very controllable.

That car has a great look to it!

  23. Here is a picture of the car just after it was finished and driven out to California. This was taken at the Limeworks open house. S6300270.jpg

Wow, old thread, and Cool car.....Maybe Ryan could create a "10 years ago today" auto bump. Neat to see some of the stuff dredged up.
