We finished custom-mandrel-bending this exhaust yesterday. It's made with MIG-welded 2.5" aluminized tube and uses stainless steel Magnaflow 4" round mufflers. The customer chose to have us route the header extensions under the front of the X-member, then they turn up and through the center crossmember. We used flex couplers to allow the header extensions to move with the engine, then the rest of the exhaust is firmly mounted using high-temp grommets.

And this is probably my favorite one that I've done recently. It's a '37 Packard powered by a modern Hemi and uses a Corvette rear end. The exhaust is made from 409 stainless and is fully TIG-welded. We custom-bent alot of mandrel bends for this one! The exhaust is routed under the X-member because the master cylinder is on the driver-side and the battery/wiring box is on the p***enger-side. So, we went under the X-member and then went back up between the framerails to tuck the mufflers up as far as possible. Then we went back down and under the differential since there was no room above the half-shafts.

    Yeah more please.
I like the looks of an exhaust system after a long time of heavy running. Blued from the port to the tip of the outlet.Cast iron manifolds pure white from heat Maybe even a touch of black from burned on oil to say it's a machine and not an electric blender.

  19. Here is the set that I made for my sedan recently. I couldn't find any I liked, so I decided to make them. I cut up a pair to use the collectors, and ordered some random bends.

Here's a stainless steel '55 Chevy exhaust that we custom mandrel-bent and TIG-welded. While most of our exhausts have several bends on a long continuous stretch of tube, this one required cutting and welding because of the short distances between the bends required to clear the ch***is crossmembers. The tailpipe sections are continuous though.

There are very close clearances between the ch***is and body so we used flex couplers and hung the exhaust very securely using custom hanger tabs and high-temp exhaust grommets. We used Aero Turbine mufflers because of their size and quality. The car has a 572 in it; can't wait to hear it run when it's finished.
