how bout the part where the lowrider was gettin gas on Mrs. Nusbaums credit card and asked him to throw in some white walls and make them the skinny ones.
I got to see the jerk car out at Barris' place when I went to visit Evel, it was out behind their building waiting to be restored. HAhaha!!
Thanks, that brings back some hilarious memories; I've gotta buy that. Almost every scene had him doing some silly shit. The poor white kid with no rhythm. Martin is a comedic genius! His mentor and idol was Jonathan Winters, whom Martin patterned his improv skills after. Another genius. The film with Michael Caine, where they played the swindlers, had some classic Martin stuff also.
All right, I was avoiding saying anything on this thread because it's so obviously off-topic and contributes nothing to traditional hot rods ... But "The Jerk" is one seriously funny film. All of those quote make me laugh.
Ah yes, Ruprik the monkey boy! "Oklahoma! Oklahoma! Oklahoma! Oklahoma! Oklahoma!" Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Steve Martin's old stand up stuff is great if you haven't seen it. Stu
man, I hate to stray from The Jerk, but in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels when he's sitting at the table and says "may I go to the bathroom"..."yes you may"...*funny look on Steve Martin's face*..."thaaank you"... dear god I just about shit myself laughing... but The Jerk is downright one of the best comedies of all time, pure genius at every corner...almost as good as Mel Brooks movies...
Oh come on now!! I was talking about her cat! You people disgust me!!! My dad HATED Steve Martin back then.
well biff...i guess me and hatch are the only one's that got the drift of your post. i know it wasn't a movie review but turned into one real quick. i took my H.A.M.B. plaque and put some of those flexible, rubberized magnets on the back and stuck it to the dash of my 63 gmc shortbed. if you can't stick it to your dash with magnets, your car is too fucking new anyway. later dude chuck
Magnets, good idea, you could even glue some rivet heads in the holes to make it look finished. Right now my plaque has been slid behind the plexiglass cover over my Utica Club Neon in the garage since the 55 isn't finished yet
Yeah, we got it. I just figured there were 137 other "where did you put your HAMB tag" threads, so I didn't go down that road. Magnets. That's funny.
So I was hanging out backstage and a couple came up to me and asked me if I'm bi. So I figure I speak a little spanish, so I say yes. And they said they were having some S&M people coming over later. I thought: Great! Some Spaniards and Mexicans!
