Hey, I'm building a hot rod, a 1937 Ford pickup. It now has a 69, 327 chevy power plant. Problem is no room for inside the frame headers and exhaust with all the cross-members and steering linkage in the way. So, I've been thinking fenderwell headers would really be *****'in with some short tubing under the running boards. Anyone know were I could go to find a pair of fenderwell sbc headers that would fit around the (pinto ?)a-arm suspension that was welded in before I got my greasy hands on it and miss the firewall ?
Language is important. If its a chair and you call it a table, we are not communicating. You are not restoring it, you are traditionally hot rodding it. The definition of Restore--repair a vehicle, so as to return it to its original condition. Its not original with a chevy engine.
what ^^^ ???? see if some one has an OLD set of 55-57 Chevy fender well headers....used is a key word - for a try and fit....my two sense....
If you want to run fenderwell headers with exhaust tapped into it you might emphasize it with a period look like this pic shows. Don't know what they are perhaps others may know.
I need a picture. Out of all the 37 pickups (and 35's, 6's, 8's etc.)with SBC engines, there must be something going on that prevents headers inside the ch***is. Having said that, not everything is going to fall off the shelf and fit perfectly in a modified car. Sometimes you have to actually make things.
