Here’s another SD. Been working on updating this beauty. It was supposedly built in the ‘70’s and re-done in the ‘90’s. Steel body glass fenders. Could be a conversion to a Delivery. The top has been chopped, a full leather interior, air. It also has an independent front end and a Jaguar rear. More changes in the works!

That's a beautiful car. About the only changes I would make are the wheels and paint the gas tank.

In response to the question "Did Ford offer working rear windows in place of the panels?" in Post #142. I offer the following: I owned this Flower car for 39 years. The wood in the body rear door, door frame, floor and rear quarter window frames is in near perfect condition and appears to be original. I believe it to be all genuine Ford produced.

I have never found any mention of a rear quarter window offering for the Sedan Delivery body style in any original Ford sales literature, factory assembly change letters, dealer letters, or anywhere else. What I was able to trace back on my SD is that it was special ordered by a funeral home in Port Townsend, Washington. I have been able to trace it's ownership through all but one owner, the owner who sold it in 1971.

So my response to your question would be, Ford did not offer working rear windows (in later years commonly refered to as Flower cars) in place of the panels in the Sedan Delivery in 1932. But I believe if a customer came along who wanted rear quarter windows installed in the Sedan Delivery body, Ford could and did supply at least one.

Thanks for the info, neat that you have the cars history traced back to the original owner. Bob

Dumb, uneducated, uninformed question time: does anyone make a fiberglass delivery body in stock height form? I've seen a couple on ebay, but they are chopped like 3.5" I think.

What about the Gibbons and Harwood bodies? Who ended up with those molds? Those were like a 2" chop, right?

  14. Get a hold of Halfmoon Hot Rods in Kansas, He has the Harwood molds. This is a Harwood I sold a couple of years ago 2019 32 delivery best pic.jpg

  16. I recently picked up a fiberglass conversion rear door and was wondering what hinges and door latch are required. Also do most conversions use wood or metal framing to hang door? Thanks

    The framing is normally wood.
