that's the basket deal! seems i remember them too on a whole lot of land barge late 70's cars as well and always missing the wire basket part. the centercap thing was tall and skinny with that hole in the end for a bolt.

those "new" steelies are just that old rim unplated and without the basket for your fries. Cragar is willing to bring that back, but not the steel slots?

The Eliminator Wheel is very cool. Looks a little like the old Fenton Hawk or Ventures Indy 500 wheels.

    Sweeeet.

Nope...Cragar is owned by Carlisle / Unique wheel.

That steelie is the same blank center that they use for the mods, whitespokes etc.... they just dont punch the holes......YAWN. The one in the pic that Skratch striped would be cool on the shop wall though.

Yeah, I agree... they are cool. Depending on cost and availability, I might go with those over the street pros... just because to me they look more vintage... and Im wanting to run a bigger inch wheel and retain that vintage feel... this would pull it off better.. I think.. could be wrong.

You Nailed it pan dragger. They sure look like the wheel from those old cheesey wire baskets from the 70's just painted not chrome.

I had a set of the basket spokes. Sears had them on close out one day for like $12 each back around 1981. Heck of a buy for a chrome rim.

I bought a set of crager's less than a year ago and they are already rusting. Won't buy anything from them again.

  14. Fed Ex brought my set today, and I went to Tire Kingdom for some 225/75 and 235/75 white walls.

Well If they made it in the old ford pattern Id be interested in them, I think its a good looking wheel, but Ive only seen pictures of them, nothing in person. I also like the cast grey S/S five spoke they have, #610G.

RADIRS are cast in a small foundry in (If I remember correctly) Northern Cali....I was told which one and exactly where it was but dont remember the details...

The reason I asked...I couldnt seem to lay my hands onna set with less than 2 months wait time...I called the company, talked to the owner and thats what he told me....the reasoning...then dont hardly have any on shelf stock, they wait for the orders, once the order gets big enough they contract out to the foundry for a run of wheels...

I still don't have a set....hopefully this year, though if I get the same answer I'll likly go with the Cragar "look alike"

there is only a small difference between them... I know it is deceiving... but, radir sells their centers, I wonder if they would fit inside the cragar wheels.

and the cragars are less expensive.

Does anyone know if the centers are interchangable? I really like the Eliminators, but prefer the more cl***ic chrome / blue center over the hex-shaped one.

  30. Thanks Fellas!

It took considerable grief to get my hands on them, but in the end I paid $119 each from Jegs.
