The one for the durango... where it shows an old rundown speedway... does anyone know if that speedway is real or of any like it with good photographic qualities like the old race car left out in the weeds? Or did dodge just set up a set or CGI it? Thanks for any info.
Thats the old middle georgia speedway in byron ga. they had a car show there back in the spring. The old race cars were not there then. I live just down the road from there and was curious when i saw all the equipment and drove the 47 down.I was told it was a "private" deal but would see it on tv. About the time I was told I would have to leave this guy comes up and asks me,"Is that an old dodge?" Maybe I should have said yes you think?
Thanks figured it was hollywooded up for the commercial... now back to the second part of my question... anyone know of old abandoned speedways that might still have that photogenic feel to it?
It is a cool old track with alot of history. Google it for more info,it might be something you are interested in.
http://ghosttracks.homestead.com/ Unfortunately many of the links on that site are dead, but there are still some good ones. Here's another good index page: http://meadowdaleraceway.homestead.com/MeadowdaleLinks1.html
Yeah... my wife is a georgia peach and my parents just moved to savannah a couple years ago... so I def plan on checking it out someday, thanks for all the info guys.
Here's a funny older Dodge commercial. Not about race tracks though. And is this the video you're talking about?
