Just figured I'd write an intro. I'm a 14 year old kid from Lake Ontario. My dad owns several cars, station wagons and metal ones from the 50's or younger. While driving back from a cruise in over the summer (one of the last of the season if I remember) he suggested that I make an account here so I can learn what it really means to "want to own an old car." So here I am now. A little about me; well I tend to like more of the cars people ease away from, the lemons if you will. Some of my favorite cars are Gremlins, Pacers, and most importantly; Edsel's! I'm not too fond of muscle cars (and I know this isn't the place to talk about it really) but I do love the 69 Doge chargers. My favorite car that my dad owns would have to be his 50 Studebaker Business Coupe, although I suppose every car he owns has a special memory. Since I'm going to be driving in a few years, we are looking for a car with an automatic transmission. He insists I don't make my everyday driving car a standard because it's an accident waiting to happen- and I agree. Right now I'm looking for an automatic Edsel (I posted a thread about it earlier) if you have any info on where I could find one, message me. Hope my time here will be fun. : )
Welcome to the Hamb. Its always refreshing to see young people interested in old cars. Good luck in your search.
Welcome Young blood. Good to see you appreciate the vintage iron. Good luck with your search for a ride but don't be so quick to rule out a manual transmission. I don't fully understand yours and your Dad's thoughts about them being an accident waiting to happen.
