x2 besides i put a built v8-60(129hp) in a 31 closed cab i built for a customer and within a month he was having me pull it out and i dropped in a warmed over 8ba. the poor thing wouldnt get outta its own way if you stuck a cattle prod up its ass.

I didn't chop mine because the cab was nearly perfect, but they look good with a light chop.

Im currently swapping the tired 302 for a rebuilt 302 and rebuilding the toploader 4 speed. I scored a T-176 shift tower from craigslist and plan on installing it in the transmission. The shifter was way too far back and never did look right. The Jeep shifter should come thru the tunnel at nearly the stock location.

For a tow vehicle, get as tough as you can on the driveline, suspension and brakes.
Build for the use, then make it pretty. That thing looks like it's got pretty in it's DNA, so no problem there.

Heres the begining, the 37 ford whose frame is getting sacrificed for the truck. Keeping the wide 5s, the V8 60 and axles for the T or A. The body is for sale if anyone is interested. If not it will be something someday. Got more pics coming of the frame.

The frame wasn't as solid as I thought so I had to repair the Passenger side rail.

    Nice truck...

A quick tip on PhotoShopping or PhotoChopping. Look for something in the pic that you know the size. Like the Cinder blocks on the wall. Your pic-chop is what I would guess to be about a 6 inch chop.

If you start over and chop it maybe a half inch, save pic, another half inch, save pic (new name of course), repeat until you reach TOO far. Then view them in a slide show. It would help you find just how much chop YOU like.

since i'm using it for hauling I am going to put my 283 w/ a 5 speed and a Ford 8" so I can run 35 wires on it, I'm keeping the front end but changing the hub/drums to 48s.

2" Chop but keep the back window stock dimensions
    Sitting in the weeds
    Y-Block w/single 4bbl & T-bird Covers
Top Loader 4 speed (or T5 if alot of highway travel is planned)
9" Ford Rear with big brakes from a wagon.
Parallel Leafs in the rear since you plan to tow with it.
