You can get the stock repo chrome escutcheon plates at Snyder's. They're not much... Don't forget the springs that go behind the panels and hold them tight to the window winders...
I finally got my seat cover made. I used a dodge caravan middle seat, but I had to modify it in the center to clear the hump in the floor. I think it came out ok. Im sorta new to upholstry. This is the first seat cover Ive ever made. The seatbelts are out of a studebaker. Thanks for looking more updates soon.
Heres the newest pictures. Ive been working on the wiring and uphostery sorta slacking because of the cold. I got the brakes and clutch a blead. and the exhaust is under way. So after ONEDGE's request I put it down on all four wheels and took some pictures. They arent that great, Lighting in the shop is poor and my camera is about junk but oh well. I also decided to change the door panels alittle bit to add alittle more charactor Thanks for the comments
HaHa yea right, Ive been working on this thing for 4 years. I just wanna get it finished because I have others to build. Its so close I have to finish it.
Ive slowly been working on the coupe. I cant wait till it gets warm again. I have some painting to do thats really holding me back at this point but I just keep plugging away. I got most of my interior panels made I just have to upholster them now. The headliner was a real hassle. I wish I could take a picture of it all but its so dark in the car the pictures dont turn out. I want to get a good camera. Luckly my parents let me do almost anything so for the last week Ive been in the house rebuilding my carbs for my tri-power. they are original tri-power carbs Im so happy about that. Im going to run a mechanical choke instead of vacum. Thanks guys more updates to come soon.
Ive really been working hard on this car for the last couple months. I got the engine all assembled and fired up. I dont have a video camera or I would have taken a video. It really comes on strong with that tri-power I also got the interior pretty well buttoned up. I still have some small things to do and make. Im pretty happy with the way it turned out. I spent alot of time sewing and fitting. The floor is all oak. The transmision hump is made out of fiberglass and is removable for easy access to the transmission. I put the last picture in there because I know there is always questions on how people finish the rear corners. And today I finished up my Headlights, Well I guess they still need put on but the paint work is done on them. I actually redid the buckets I messed them up the first time. So the flames are alittle different but I think they came out decent. Im planning on putting them on tomorrow so Ill take some pictures with them on but for now heres on without the lights.
Wow, i really love how your tackling all the diffrent facets of this build. Ive only just found this, and im looking forward to seein you getting it finished. I notice the word "homemade" popping up more and more, and its been buggin me. (as in, why do people care?) I guess its just a sign of the times, so maybe we should start calling some cars, "probuilds"? I really dont care how a rod is built, as long as its safe and cool. What you have is very cool.
I agree with this, Nolan, I think that's going to be a problem for you down the road man, might want to rethink on that before you get to far along. Just my .02 cent man.
Thanks OJ and grits Ive been thinking about the rear suspensioius and I think Im going to change it. Im going to make longer ladder bars or radius rods whatever you want to call them and mount them to the center of the transmission crossmember making it more triangular with minimal hacking of what I already have.
Noland If you're concerned about the rear suspension, just add "tie rod ends" to the axle sides of the radius rods. Put them both upper and lower and you will have no problems with binding. Especially, with the panhard bar installed. Jim
I am glad you are reconsidering moving the front ladder bar location close together. Else something will break sooner or later. Adding heims to the rear mounting points does nothing as you correctly recognized. Neat build btw.
thanks, I knew I didnt want them all white or metalflake because I thought they wouldnt look right . So I decided to paint them white and put some flames on them.
