Thanks for the coverage Joey, great turnout of traditional hot rods! I wouldn't change a thing on this 33...
Great write up Joey, you truly captured the “vibe”! As much fun as it is to have you riding along and shooting film, we’d love to have you driving your “new” roadster with us, glad it’s close!! Thx again for the words and GREAT pics!!! Johnny
One of my favorite events of the year covered by one of my favorite types of Joey posts. Very complimentary and I swear I’ll make it there one day to throw a thumb out and hitch a ride threw California in a roadster. Now to go back through all those great photos again!
Dave's runs are the best ! My roadster doesn't qualify for the Roadster Run as the engine is too new, but I have been doing his Nor Cal Reliability Run which happens later in the year forever. He really figures out super routes with great lunch stops and ending points. Major props to him for keeping these going all these years. Nice coverage Joey, all those roads and most of those cars are very familiar to me. Looks like my bro had to do a roadside repair to his RPU !!! Hope to see you and your "new" roadster on the Reliability Run.
Joey, Your words and pictures capture the essence of the run perfectly. Every year Dave takes us on new roads to places of beauty found only by traveling the hidden back roads of Northern California. Make no mistake, the cars and drivers (as well as the passengers who have to hold on for dear life) are challenged by the curves, elevation changes, and rugged pavement encountered along the way. The traditional machines that participate are truly put to the test, this is no cruise to the local cars and coffee. Many who take up the challenge for the first time do not return, the rigor of the journey is too much for them. Those who do return year after year form a bond born from conquering the demands of the Northern California Roadster Reliability Run. Can hardly wait for next year when you can bring your roadster.
I'd love to see more pics of that 36 tub! Edit - I wrote that 'off line' & @V8RPU delivered before I asked! What a grouse car
This would make such a killer little magazine like Church. I’m still holding out hope for a print on demand Joey coffee table book with tons of photos and little stories. I can see it having a similar vibe to the printed editions of the jalopy journal.
Yes, Homesick but happy to see that some of the great roads in Northern CA are still there, The rods are pretty cool too!
