Yes...Byron is good at keeping things moving, but if your car isn't at least a little sorted out then breakage can slow things up. They used to hold big bracket races and had more than 400 cars run through.

Well the drama here at LA Hot Rods continues. Got held up working on a go kart for a buddies daughter and now the tow vehicle is showing up on a roll back with a broken rod.

    Well,
My Boy an I had the car out yesterday, ran the 20 minutes into town, drove all over the place, fast, slow,in between.....Car was working great except for a little flat spot in the transition from cruise to big throttle,it ran well.Stopped for gas,no problem.
Not sure if it was a coincidence or not,but when the sun started to go down,I pulled on the running lights. It ran fine.A while later, pulled on the headlights.....30 seconds later it stalled in the middle of an intersection and wouldn't turn over.(Which ****ing ****ed by the way).

The car would always pull **** like this, but I always thought I'd was ****ty old batteries and alternators doing it back my low budget days...
It now has a brand new rebuilt alternator, new battery, etc.

Guess I have some homework to do..

The Overland Express is definitely the inspiration for my new build, I think it's awesome that the original car... errr... truck...ummm wagon, is still around and being put back on the road.

My build will be a slow one. I have a pretty good idea where I want it to go. Should be fun

  19. Quietly biting my nails, we keep hitting snags. The engine (the 410" back up pump g***er) is finally supposed to get dynoed tomorrow), and I'm told I can pic up the car Thursday. We'll have about a three week window to get it together, but all our vision has been used up waiting for services rendered, but we ain't throwing in the towel just yet. A few of the guys have stepped up their came pretty good as of late, and we won't have our #1 bullet, but we should still be able to ****** a few Northern Nancy's. The good news is we we've covered a year and a halfs planned updates in six months, man where has all the time gone?

    Sa**on,
Took this one at Billetproof Florida last year, thought it was different at the time as I'd not seen one as a g***er before.

Stay strong Gr***Hoppa, you are SO close...!!!I know it's overwhelming,as I hate deadlines too,but keep at it,even if you're bolting parts on the car as you load it on the trailer!
We NEED you at this race Brother!

    On a side note:
The grocery getter goes in for lettering tomorrow....I think you're gonna be shocked when you see it!:)

  22. We got 70psi priming her with the drill motor & 200 psi cranking stone cold
without having fired the engine yet (this is the 11.5:1 pump gas 410).., stay tuned for dyno reports, and say a prayer for us too!

  23. Mother board on the dyno computer just smoked itself. We're getting the mother board rebuilt as I type this, and having a burger @ The Habit. stayed tuned some more.

Must be one bad *** 410 too smoke the mother board on a dyno.

  25. That's what my brother Marc said, but this dyno has seen 3000hp in its past, so it probably ain't afraid of our little ole 410er. Funny thing the mother board blew the end caps on a couple of the capacitors.., it literally popped a cap in its own ***! Sick twisted mother board puppy! This is a Dos computered DTS Dyno. A new motherboard is $530 dollars, and a week away. If the software had been lost, its $15,000 for new stuff from Super Flow, who bought DTS. A friend sent us to a little repair shop in Chino, that is rebuilding the board as we speak for $180, and if it don't work we don't pay for his two hours of work. I think I love Peter the computer McGyver dude.

  26. No dyno today, Whaaa, mother board won't be repaired until tomorrow, smoke em if ya got em, and report back tomorrow.

  27. Good Luck Ric! I hope the dyno session goes grrrreat!

  28. Good News! Mother board is repaired, computer is working, so dyno session starts in the morning. Any bets on power?
