    guess i'll post mine...i haven't done anything since purchasing in July of 2009, except new flywheel, starter, battery...it's a '66, although the appearance is '65...currently 327/Powerglide combo (i have original 283)....lots of plans for the future, but no $$$ right now...additional pics here:

    thanks...it looks much better in pics, but it has a few of the typical issues for these trucks...overall, it's a pretty decent truck though

    Ed, S10 front shocks aren't a bolt on for these old trucks. Notice your front shocks have an eye at each end ? The S10 shocks have a stud on the top and a flat plate on the bottom.

  6. I see the truck mags have sway bars available for these trucks.Are they worth the money and do they make THAT much better ride?

    Don't spend your money on a front sway bar from a magazine. Any front sway bar off a truck up through 87 will bolt on to your truck. The 3/4 and 1 tons have large 1.25 inch units. Hit the junkyard for a bar and clamps and your local parts store for fresh bushings and you're set. I hate to see someone pay good cash for an aftermarket bar and then pay to ship the heavy thing cross country when good old later model factory GM bars are available for junkyard prices.

    I hope Ryan doesn't mind me crossposting from another forum, but here is a good article I wrote some years ago detailing front sway bar swaps onto these earlier trucks. There are plenty of pictures and part numbers to get you all set up for cheap.

    Rear bar's are worth it! Slot car compared to stock. The aftermarket has 'lowered' ft sway bar bracket's for mo' ground clearance.

  20. Yeah,I'm going to try it..and see how it works..

    Thanks everyone;

    anybody have any front fenders for these? Putting together my 60 chevy panel and the fenders are shot. Any that are workable is better than what I have!

    I know I'm going to get killed on this post (because I have no pictures) but there was a guy @ Pate this last weekend with a 65 'burban, deep blue paint job, very nice. But the best part is that he had grafted it onto the platform of an SSR.

    Completely grafted. Basically picked the bodies off the 2 vehicles and stuck the burb on the SSR, electronics and all. Even modified the gauge cluster and dash to meld together.

    Very nice.

    lotta great looking trucks fellas. I see a whole lot of laid down c-10s (which all look awesome) so i figured, what would one look like with the high and mighty treatment? Fender well dumps, engine set back, pie crust slicks, spindle mounts, and a moon tank for good measure. I did this quicky sketch to find out.

    I searched through this thread and didn't see any (though looking through 54 pages, i coulda easily missed it if one is in there)

    Anyway, just figured I'd share, enjoy :D
