I still can't see this bodystyle as a gasser but I dig these.

  4. I don't think I've ever seen one on the track. I have seen hunting vehicles set up that way. Those old Burbs make good vehicles for getting out with your buddies for a camp out and killing.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do it. Maybe if you threw enough non essential pieces away and built enough engine you could get that brick down into the 13s maybe even the 12s.

If I wanted something like that I would build it. Let the chips fall where they may.

You would first have to define gasser I suppose. :D

I think that a Pro-Mod C-10 would be the bomb, not at all traditional, which is the bent of this site but bad to the bone none the less.

I'd love to have the motor outa Super73's truck. I saw that he put a fiberglass hood on it and had some big spray planned for it.

Thanks Jason. I have always liked the pro street look especially with the Cragar S/S. Those have always been my favorite wheel.

Thank you to all who have posted pics here, for the insparation and motivation. Here is a picture of mine the day I found it in November. title and tailgate say chevy, hood and headlight bezel are gmc. She's got a mid 70's 350 and a muncie 4 speed. she runs, goes and stops now and the stacks are gone. if our heatwave holds out I should have some new pics soon

I've been thinking about selling my front Wheel Vintiques and getting a couple 15x6s. The 15x8s are a little to wide.

I may have just traded my 91 Chevrolet Truck daily driver for a 66 stepside small window, will not know until Monday. It will be a even steven trade if it all works out. Truck already has a set of those deep, six lug, slot mags on it, and a 66 327 that supposedly has 3000 miles on it. I'll have to go thru everything, but it should be easy to get going. Wish me luck. I'll have to walk till I get it going. Always wanted a 63-66 truck all my life. I'll post pics if it comes thru.:D

    I have a 65 c10 6 lug rear axle and a 73 12 bolt rear axle, 5lug. Can I swap rear axles? I let the 73 12 bolt get rusty inside. Thanks

Yes, you can swap them. You will have to install new axle saddles to the correct angle for the trailing arms. Also, the 73 rear will be a bit wider than the stock 65. I think it comes out to like 3/4" wider per side.

Why not just replace the axles with 5 lug?

Will the axle shafts swap?, I'm using the 73 front suspension so I want the same bolt pattern front and rear. I can't use the rear axle assembly because I left the cover loose for years and it is rusty. Thanks

Well , I got it. We were going to trade for my 91 truck, but he didnt want to. So after we heard it run, we had to have it. My brother loaned me the money and we will craiglist the 91 or something. I'm going to check the numbers ,which I couldnt see to good, but it supposed to be a 65 327 Vette hi-perf. motor, I got the parts book ,Ill know for sure soon. But the previous owner has put a lot of new parts on etc., so I think I'll be all right either way.I thought I was getting a 66, but damn, it turned out to be a 63. I will be getting rid of the wheels, they are 6-lug 5 slots , I think they are just about new, 8 and 10 in. wide I believe. I going to thrash this thing over the weekend. Needs a gas gauge and the brakes gone over to drive it. It has some crazy cam , headers , purple hornies, 3-speed .I'm excited. How do these things sit with 2 coils off the front? Will be lowering it. I'm excited.:D

Nice find, I really like it, personally I love the 5 slots, wish you weren't half continent and another country away. Should be able to sell them easy. Your front should come down 1" per coil roughly. Enjoy the build, keep us posted.

Not sure if anybody is Interested but I have started a "group" for our trucks.

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=635

Just an easy place for you to join up and post a pic of your truck. That way they can all be in a "gallery" if you will. Maybe make it easier to check out every body's trucks without scrolling on for days!

If the link doesn't work just search for 60-66 C10 in the groups area.
Right now i'm just chillin by myself haha!
    any takers?
