No I don't, and if I'm wrong, cool. What percentageof cars sold at B.J. do you guess will have 200 miles more on them this time next year?

You are likely right that more and more people do drive *some* of these cars on a somewhat regular basis. Not even I would want to see the Buick being driven in 2 feet of snow. I think that more than 200 miles a year will be the exception though. At some shows, maybe not as rare, but at B.J. it will be. And that is why IMO people rag on B.J.

And you likely aren't buying your car at B.J.

And that is the point. The parts are so expensive because some guy is going to pay $72,000 for a rod that isn't any better than yours but you have to sink so much into yours because of the $72,000 rod that nobody is going to drive.

I have no idea what you would sell your car for. $25K? It likely is a far, far, far better deal than the $72K rod.

I think you misunderstand. To me, no, there isn't. There are certainly 50K cars that I think are cool and some, like the Buick perhaps works of art. I'm not knocking the work that went into any of these cars.

No matter how much money I had I wouldn't pay 6million for a Picasso when I could buy a Tingler for $30.

I hope I am. Not sure how you know for sure as noted earlier it's likely headed off for resale again, but I hope I am wrong.

I went to the Mid-America Motorcycle auction in Vegas last weekend. I saw some bikes go by and be bought for under what I presumed to be the value, and some that went higher. In general, after watching some of BJ and the Vegas auction it seems to me that some of the prices are sort of flat. Some sold for less than the restoration cost and were bargains. Auction companies all play their games though. Lots of shady deals making some of those prices inflate sometimes. Shills, buddies of the owner, or the auctioneer, bidding the price up cause there's the guy in the audience that has been chasing that item and they know it...for example.
Not that I'm a witness...I'll swear to nothing.
