I'll PM him and see if he'll allow me to machine the HAMB logo to be used on a plate topper, column drop and/or brake pedal for Andys car.

  2. I just picked up the dash from Shane.

It's officially on it's way to Joplin for the signing party. Shane also included three paint pens.

    Doc, you're first!!

Ryan rocks. What are you planning for exhaust pipes or mufflers? Maybe I can get our guys at Bosal Canada to bend something up. If not, I'll see about doing it myself in Michigan but it may take a few because we're moving the plant right now.

What's the status of the tires? I'd be willing to throw in for some.

Check out the post I just put up about Pop & Beer Cans for Tires. I'm pushing the GMBs to support this but anybody with some spare change can send it my way and we'll organize having tires drop shipped to Andy for the build.

  13. Bump.

Also, I don't have alot of parts but if you are interested in a cool old pair of Guide Commercials off a Chevy, I would chip them in.

Also, would Coker kick in the tires?

  15. I'm glad to hear some good news for Andy. How is the young man doing? Also, are there any photochop threads that I'm missing, or are we not there yet? It seems a little overdue to me.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

A photochop thread would be sweet. So would a rendering by one of our talented artist. A sticky would be good too.

i now have the banner Deano made to go on the front of the table where the dash will be available for signing at the drags.

    NICE!!!

the banner is mega cool in and of itself. this thing will be cool for andy to hang in his room after the drags if he wants to.

maybe we'll have folks sign the banner, too, so that andy will have a piece of hamb history right where he can see it all the time even without going outside to see his "A".

ANDY - get better so's we can meet up at the "08 hamb drags, ya hear? we're thinkin' about you and praying for you. keep strong, man.

    Holy shit that is bitch'n.

Yes after you guys sign the banner..........please. It will be awsome on Andys wall or on display when the car is on display at any local shows.

Here is the kicker folks...........Chris has told Andy that pending on his recovery he will send the model a to Joplin next year and fly Andy there to meet you guys. Oh yea...........the not so important part, i wouldnt miss that for anything.

Keep snoop'n as i will be updating everyone on Andys progress as he undergoes this procedure.

    Regards
    Leon

Hery Leon, I need to know the outside diameter of the steering column thats going into Andys car, for the column drop.

I could bore it to 1.750" and include a few "spacer rings" to fit an 1.625" or 1.500" column, but I'd rather it be right on size without any spacer rings.

    Let me know.

    OH yeah,

Good luck to you Andy, the hotrod gods are smiling on you son!

  28. I pulled the car apart and loaded the body, front axle and front frame section a week ago. Should be almost there. Pat.

This post is now huge, confusing and unwieldy due to its length...
Would it be possible to start an update in a separate thread on what the car plan looks like now, what has been gathered, and what is needed? The existing thread has far too many twists and turns and ramblings to follow.
Parts needed especially, and books...what would he like to read more about??
    Subjects, time period??
