It's time to build a real traditional hotrod! I will update this as the build progresses.

I've had this body for a while now, and decided to make it the shop car. Its going to sit unchanneled with a 6" chop on deuce rails with wild ex-dragboat nailhead power. I dont have enough room at the shop for the body and ch***is, so the body is getting done at home, and the ch***is at the shop.

I have an old rusted out 48 F1 that will donate its shock mounts, and steering box to the cause, and also a 1962 Buick that is donating the front drums and rear axle. Wheels are 16" 36 olds Artilleries. Tires will be 6.00-16 and 7.00-16 Firestone blackwalls. Not sure of color yet, but I know it will be PAINTED.

My buddy Cab gave me a set of Guides and some split bones that he bought for the coupe-de-cab and never used as well (thanks homie!)

I plan on using some kind of 6 deuce intake, probably will make a log type one in house.

Anyways....step one. Body off and in the garage.....I'll have some chop pic's for y'all in a few days.

I will be keeping an eye on this thread. Similar to what I want to do. I'm even using a 62 nailhead also.

    Worked all weekend on it!

Braced it up with some 3/4" conduit and screwed the subrails to a wood frame to keep it all from moving.

Marked out the chop and wacked the roof off

Set the roof back on to see what I had.....I likey.

Welded her up with the little Lincoln

    Cleaned up the welds

Scored this off the aution site, and ordered all my patch panels today.

I've decided to paint it GLOSS antique white with black beltlines. The frame will probably be black as well....I dont quite care for the matching highboy stuff unless its black. woo hoo! I am so blessed to be able to finally have time to build this thing.

So that's what the visor is going on! :D Looks like the finish matches perfectly, are you sure you want to paint it?

Yes, definitely painting it. The patina thing isnt what I'm going for on this one.

Well....got alot done. The body looked straight, but it is tweeked pretty bad. Nothing lined up....it was kinda a nightmare, but i'm out of the woods on that finally. I have most of the mangled roof straightened, and the doors are fixed. The p***enger door looked like someone ran over it with a truck. shotgun hole, broken hinges, broken/bent frame....it was bad. I put a lower patch panel on (fit like ****) and patched the shotgun blast with part of the drivers side panel.

Welded the holes in the firewall shut...

Sandblasted the crusty old visor and welded it up.

Reinforced the roof where the wood was with 1" square tube. I will do the same with all the side supports as well.

Found a good use for the hood.....

Startin to look like a hotrod........
