Where will you get it poured? And what material?

Hope you take pictures of that!

Those will sell! In kit form or DIY. Do you plan to make a run of a specific amount of castings?

    I don’t know if machining a 2000lb casting is a diy proposition:D

Awesome stuff! We purchased a company located in Bolton back in the 90s that built a rotary vane compressor called Rotovane. I visited the foundry that made the cast iron parts. I know it’s a long shot, but I wonder if you’re using the same foundry?

Highly unlikely, not many foundries survived the manufacturing depression of 2000-2002 then the Covid lockdowns bs

Incredible accomplishment! Do you know if they “aged” castings like that back in the day?

I will be curious to see what type of machinery will be used to finalize all the machined surfaces. Do you have access to a big boring mill?

My business is actually building and rebuilding machine tools and have one of the biggest capacities in my county in the uk . I have angle plates that are much heavier than the wheel casting!

Thanks for the encouraging comments you men . It genuinely helps me see my daft vanity projects through when I’m 80 years late to the party :D

Just for fun we weighed the casting, the scale is in kilograms so the finished machine will be over 2100lb

    Clive,
I assumed England, but is that the actual country you are in?

If I was younger and had the money, I'd ask you to have another cast for me. This is one of the best projects I've seen.
    SO COOL! :D

Oh Wow, I just stumbled on these pages after seing the Lambco wheel ad on Ebay.
what a amazing job Mr. Lambo did!
also looked at the Edwards wheel rebuilt.
I have one of those and it was also locked up when I got it.
I could have posted some advice but ...to late, you already mastered it.
I'll try to post pic of my Edwards.
    .......
Ah! that was easy, here it is :
I made a cradle underneath to be able to wheel (Ha!) it around .
It has Justin Baker lower anvils as the original ones where missing when I got it.

    thanks (lamb not lambo!)
I put some ads on eBay just so people might see them , obviously bespoke commissioned wheels aren’t a eBay product! I don’t need someone winning a wheel for less than the fuel to collect the castings from the foundry :D

Sorry Clive! I wrote your name incorrectly!
Actually, that price on Ebay made me curious,
I knew straight away it could not be done for that amount.
So I went searching for it and found these pages!
Good PR , and I can spend hours here......
    Thanks!
